Burrows, fights thru 5 innings and gives Astros a chance. That's now FIVE consecutive appearances with no multi-run HR !!

Yordan go-ahead GS (career 7th) -- ties Berkman, Altuve, and Carlos Lee franchise record. That's three GS in June.... another POTM incoming.

Bullpen throws a perfect 4 innings, literally -- no runs, walks, or hits... defense, no errors.

    Nice win!

and give credit where it’s due, that was an impressive show of reverse jinx force by the negative Nancy posters in the first two innings……..

4 no hit innings from the pen.

If Ullola can establish himself as a weapon that may be our formula. Tolerable starting and great work from the pen.

Hader, King and Okert as the primary leverage guys with Blubaugh, Ullola, Santa, and Teng as flexible guys with options. Still also have Abreu as a lottery ticket.

And a sneaky good offense that has some ability to hit well in big/late moments.

Crazy to think we most likely lose this game last season as Yordan never gets a chance with them loaded.

There’s a good crop in AA (Mayer, Hertzler, Nezuh, Gillis) and A (Beck, Perez, Potter, Forcucci if he gets right). Potter, Beck, and Meyer have the best shot of ending up as ToR SP. I don’t expect him to be an ace but I think Ethan Pecko has an excellent chance of being a quality MLB SP.

Rangers are getting extra luck in close games.

Ten of their last 12 wins are by 1-2 runs -- the other two, 3 runs.

Offense is mid, but their pitching has been very good.

    ... with more injuries.

Rangers haven't seen Hader or Pena this year.

The Rangers are by far the worst team of the 3 compared to Astros and Mariners. I would put even Athletics ahead of them. And Im speaking if they were healthy. Mariners fans hate their Manager Wilson 5 times more than Joe haters like me hate Joe. Wilson really is contributing to wasting this Mariners window having all those SP's cheap. What Rangers do have is luck and actual manager in Skip, WS player winner and manager of the year and person who learned from 4 time winning WS manager in Texas before stepping to manage in his place.

Great to see Yordan come through. Visibly been pressing himself. Diaz made his trademark reach for double play but for once the fkr had eyes and slipped through. Went from yelling super angry to TV to roaring "fk yeah!" in like half a second :).

When I watch Burrows pitch my mind wanders did Dana see him pitch before trade or did he mostly look numbers. The ball does't move at all. It's like the most straight FB I have ever seen.....like he would be trying to throw it like dart straight as a joke :(.

That Okert, King and Hader 3 lefty musketeers really working. Would be great to have 1 righty fireman who has the balls and stuff to use late.

    Only one problem with this.

Living on the east coast and having to be in bed early to get to work by 5AM.
If the Astros are down like they were last night and it not looking good for the rest of the game, I cash my chips in and go to bed.
So I missed the Alvarez GS last night as I do many games.

West coast games are completly off the books for me Colorado is as far as I go time wise.
Now those 6:40 start times in Clevland I can get behind

The straightest fastball belongs to Forrest Whitley. It was the easiest 96-97 fastball to hit I've ever seen. It was like batting practice.

Dana normally leaves the pitching evaluation to Miller and the rest of the pitching staff. They must have saw something they thought they could work with. Right now, his job is to eat innings. As soon as they get another pitcher that can do better, he will be sent down where he can work on some stuff.

I'm sure I'm completely wrong but I feel miller and the pitching staff also like burrows for his demeanor.

Dude barely shows emotions so you can't tell if he's rattled or not.

Gave up multi runs homerun? Cool whatever. keep on pitching.

Team came back and score runs? Cool. Keep on pitching.
