Not as many as Click did by not addressing the bullpen enough during the offseason. Hinch had better depth with Marisnick, Marwin, Kemp, and White. He never had a player as bad as Robel Garcia and that is 100% a Click decision to have on the roster. Also, the Astros give ZERO f%cks about the load management complaining. Their response would be tied for the best record in the American League and we hold the tie breaker over the Rays so we are number 1...
Until Oakland creeps up and takes over first place, but then it would be the "well we have the first wild card" moral victory excuse I suppose. Rest your guys when you are in a comfortable lead - not just because the poor babies came in late on a flight and have to play baseball that night. SMH. Looking at that lineup last night gave me anxiety flashbacks of the Bo Porter era.
Only one player was sat last night, Correa. Yuli has the neck pain. Why Dusty couldn't wait hopefully just one more day for Yuli to be back before giving a rest day to another infielder, IDK, especially with a groundball pitcher. Now Dusty will say, hey Maldy didn't have an error and Castro hit a HR so I can run them out there more! Yuli or Diaz might have had that double down the first base line...
If he is clearly better than Straw in Clicks eyes, he should have played over Chas. Again, IF they thought Chas was better than Straw, no reason Straw was playing basically every day over him. And bringing up a young guy like Meyers and then sitting him for a week is a pretty dang rough way to have someone make their debut, assuming dusty lets him have a start at some point
Yea, last week we start Tucker and Brantley and Alvarez in the OF and a majority say "it's a good move because Framber is a ground ball pitcher" Then we start this infield with the same Framber on the mound Makes you wonder if Dusty was really "smart" enough to have only used that outfield last week because of having a ground ball pitcher on the mound Dusty by all accounts is a very good man, a solid person He is also an idiot
I agree with all of this, but if your GM and Manager aren't on the same page, it makes it extremely tough to win a championship. Not impossible, but difficult, even if you do have the most super talented players in all of baseball
