Don't worry, this dude is delusional. BTW.... Anybody notice that Roger's 1st start is coming on June 22nd and that he started his career in 1984, 22 years ago?
LOLOL...."when everett was injured"?? haha....man, this is too easy. he got injured LAST SEPTEMBER apparently. LOLOL. and it was those 5 days off that magically cured him? now he's completely healthy and good to go? what about those several months off that he had in the offseason? guess he couldn't get it straightened out back then...he needed those 5 days! actually, maybe you're on to something. submit this to any medical publications you can. you'll be rich! Treatment for Torn Cartilage in Lower Back: 1. Rest for 5 months. 2. Play baseball for 3 months. 3. Promptly Rest for 5 days. Your cartilage will fuse back together and you can resume all normal activities. let it go chief. you are an inferior being to me. all my points make sense, and all yours are out of somebody else's mouth, devoid of rational thought, or both. you severely lack intelligence and all you do on these boards is instigate people and take out your misery on screennames. i pity you, honestly i do.
there were a variety of factors contributing to the loss, but: a pitcher weakening after 100 pitches, 7+ innings, and a start removed from returning from the dl isn't abnormal. a bullpen's inability to prevent a team from scoring a run isn't abnormal. a major league 2nd baseman not having the arm to turn a routine double play, however, is unacceptable.
What on earth are you talking about? He took a shot in spring training. It started flairing up again a few weeks ago, until he couldn't play anymore. He took another shot again, and now he's playing again. How hard is that to grasp? The problem is not cured, it's controlled.
damn...good point. i forgot that everett's taking those shots that take a full week to work after they are administered. LOLOL. so naive.
Everett to sit a spell Shortstop Adam Everett, who hit .187 in May, was informed by manager Phil Garner before Saturday's game that Eric Bruntlett would be starting at shortstop for the next few days. "Bruntlett's been swinging the bat well," Garner said. "Of course, if Bruntlett gets 10 hits in the next couple of days we might have to extend that a little bit. We'll see." LOL. yeah, i guess this blurb and a direct quote from Garner's mouth from a few weeks ago doesnt back up what I say or anything. yours where it says NOWHERE that his ailment was the actual reason he wasn't playing is much more sensible to believe. you all challenge, and i always win.
Not all double plays are completed. It happens. And that double play looked anything but routine. From what I recall, and I'm a little fuzzy about it, wasn't Everett slow to get it to Biggio in the first place, and wasn't Biggio throwing the ball at a less than optimal manner. I don't remember too much about it because A) it seemed like a hard one to turn at the time, so it wasn't a big deal to me that they didn't make the 2nd out and B) regardless of whether they turn that or not the pitcher's job is to hold that runner. Besides, Biggio's been playing 2nd all year and last I checked the team leads the league in double plays.
WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO TAKE THE CONDESCENDING TONE?? what the hell do you think you're "winning"?? that crap got your ass booted before. make your point. make it in a moderately respectful way. and move on. i disagree with the substance of your argument. i don't think everett and/or the astros were lying to us. they said he had an injury...everett said he got a shot and felt tons better...and everett's performance indicates to me that he does feel better. do you have a link for the blurb you posted above?
Reading between the lines, the second sentence I quoted infers that for some reason (AE's injury) they had to start Bruntlett, and that while they were always planning on plugging Everett back into the lineup if healthy, Bruntlett could possibly change their plans with his bat. I don't really see how this quote helps prove your point at all.
i dont understand why you continue to argue with me if you feel like i'm condescending and don't like whatever tone you think i am taking. ignore me. i wasn't being condescending. i was just wondering if you are extremely naive. cheers.
Most importantly...Preston Wilson candyassing a throw home 15 feet over the cutoff man. Directly led to 2 runs. Mental mistakes; Berkman said he thought the game was over, Oswalt said he "lost concentration" in the 7th. Unacceptable.
because i'm capable of arguing without attempting to insult you, personally. without bringing YOU into the substantive discussion.
Please take the Adam Everett/ Eric Bruntlett argument to its own thread. Stop mucking up the game thread with that crap. This thread is directly related to the games. If it pertains to the games fine, but if you are going to argue the merits of who should start, do it elsewhere.
All of our Astros are great players. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to put on the glove and jock strap and go perform the task themselves. Geeze, these guys are WS material. Naysayers and bandwagon fairweather fans seem to think they know it all. I say give our guys a break, it's hardly worth degrading people on our team or in our BBS.
Which is where I think Roger helps the most....we need more INTENSE players.....guys who others feel they have to live up to, and not let down. ROGER !! DD
