Jesus... talk about getting blooped to death... they're just making contact, and the ball is finding a nook/gap.
Yet another game that comes close to fitting the formula (starter goes 7, bullpen closes it, offense does enough)... but not all the way there yet.
Tonight it wasn't the fault of the offense though, 4 runs should be enough to beat the Twins for Christ sake. We've seen this time and time again with Garner, leaving pitchers in too long sometimes just because of reputation alone. Oswalt wasn't getting rocked around last inning, but not even a mound visit for 3 straight hits? What kind of bull**** managing is that?
Roy looked just fine in that 8th inning... which refutes the argument that they "left him in too long." Oswalt in the 7th is just about as sure of a thing as Qualls... also, Preston shouldn't have tried to throw out the runner on the slow-hit ball (although it probably ultimately wouldn't have mattered if Oswalt still gives up the double to Punto)
Dang it Ausmus...no passed balls in the 9th inning...we really need Lidge to tighten up, now a bleeder puts us behind. DD
Mauer's a stud... I'm fearing the worst out of this confrontation. EDIT: Well, we know that Mauer (a catcher) runs faster than John Mabry (see game 5).
Fricken UNBELIEVABLE.....Lidge is SOOOOOOO not himself this year..... A Wild pitch to give the game away...another 3 run lead...BLOWN... WOW ! DD
How many times is our bullpen going to blow it this year? They got ONE STINKING HIT !!!! And they take the lead......we just don't play smart baseball from the bullpen...far too many walks....just sickening. DD
Maybe the AL is just better... anybody care to see what the White Sox are doing to St. Louis right now?
