I think the modern conservative embraces those traits today as odd as that sounds. It all falls under the umbrella of "machismo" and is why Trump has support in odd places like with male Latinos. Right wing populism is full of machismo. That type of personality only works in in gaining political clout in countries like Russia, Brazil and the US.

how do you separate the two? his rhetoric is his personality. imo, if you say and do racist stuff then you are racist. trump has said and done racist stuff throughout his life so therefore he is a racist.
