Being more pragmatic than expected still doesn’t mean he’s immune from the immense pressure he’ll be under. Keeping in mind that the current house rules still allow for a single member to vacate the speaker. And there’s this space he’ll be able to operate in where he publicly speaks about how he’s actually just trying to give the people faith in our elections etc. and abiding by the rule of law, but just the fact that he likely has the power to delay the vote just to “let the legal process play out etc.” is a frightening amount of power for any Republican to have in 2024. Everyone talks about Mike Pence saving the day (which he did) but nobody talks about how important it was that Nancy pelosi was speaker in January of 2021 as well. I also have little faith that the media won’t play into the Republican talking points about the necessity of the delay etc. MSNBC would be the only outlet freaking out about an unraveling coup, while every single other corporate media outlet will be writing op eds about how this is just a normal process and it’s actually happened before. - One more point- knowing how Republicans politic, and propagate - I definitely could see them strategizing to derail on their end but put it in a way that forces Kamala Harris’ hand on Jan 6 where she won’t sign off on their shenanigans and then they scream that Harris is doing the thing that Mike Pence would not, etc etc.
I have to laugh at the MAGA folks desperately acting like all these voters are switching over to Trump. I don't believe it. It's just the same bunch of clowns who voted for him before at his rallies, along with the usual paid props. The nutjobs travel around with nothing better to do in their lives than watch some psychopath who isn't even sure what state he is in spurt out a bunch of lies, and cry about getting caught in his criminal acts. Nobody decided, oh, I'm gonna vote for that rapist, tax evader, insurrectionist, coup plotter, foul mouthed nutjob compulsive liar guy, who was wrongly convicted by our corrupt government. They didn't just decide that some guy committing multiple felonies in 4 states is exactly what type man we can trust with our Nation's secrets, and our Democracy. They didn't just decide that they think it's time to start sucking up to the evil dictators, spitting on NATO, and saying f*ck it to the Democracy. The rallies are smaller, they are just SAYING the opposite....Trump isn't popular, people don't LIKE Trump - they know he is a convicted felon a rapist and a pedophile - he is not a likeable person at all. The only thing making this close is Biden staying in at 99 years old. Any other Dem would be crushing Trump. DD

Its none of what you think, the reason why more and more people are flocking to Trump is because you can only lie to them for so long. People can see the bs, the political persecution, the incompetence and racism from Biden, the loss of our borders and sky high inflation, they see what is happening world wide and remember how the world was pre covid when Trump was in office. Dems did a fantastic job in 2020 on lying to The American people about Trump, with the help of mainstream media (propaganda) the wildfire of lies grew and did manage to convince many of what Democrats were making up. Problem is Democrats main concern in their 4 years in office wasn't the country. It was Trump....... Literally what they did in 3 years and a half was try and stop Trump from running again, send money to Ukraine and allow a migrant invasion. They could have easily been in the lead if they actually focused on making America great again.....
Alt fact and promising greatness: Trump publicly shifted on healthcare, which Biden led widely. He took credit for Biden’s IRA Act that capped insulin prices, lying about it on a post on Truth Social, claiming he, not Biden, lowered insulin prices. He did issue an EO on insulin, but like most things, it was not only ineffective; community health centers pushed back, saying it would actually reduce access, not increase it. After spending his first term unsuccessfully trying to terminate Obamacare and promising to replace it with something great, he’s now embracing Obamacare and saying he will make it great. One guy lies and takes credit for others' accomplishments, yet again promising that this time will be great, while the other guys just get the job done.
