No, because America does not hold a gang like MS13. This was something that had to happen in El Salvador because of the extreme corruption from the previous government, cops and da's.... If you watch just 1 min of that documentary you will see these cops half assing their job to "arrest" these gang members by banging on the door and screaming out several times they were there to "arrest" them. They were all in it, they would "arrest" them and let them out in the morning. The hole went so deep El Salvador had to pretty much replace nearly the entire government in the span of 5 years because MS13 had control of absolutely everything. Bukele had to go to extreme lengths to take back the country, it is not necessary here or in many places but it was in El Salvador and it is in many other countries that are begging for the same. America does not have that problem, and because each state acts independently it will never have that problem. However, we have leftists da's that are soft on crime and let go of violent criminals all too easy only for them to go on and hurt someone else. This is where conservatives and libs don't meet eye to eye. Conservatives want law and order, libs want to rehab the "victims of society lashing out against the world". America needs to be tougher on crime.

You mentioned about locking people up without a trial as a good thing. You said it was okay because of the crime problems in El Salvador. Either the justice system is good enough to still work when there is crime or it isn't and needs to be changed.

Our justice system is only as good as our leaders, as our judges and DA's and attorneys and clerks ect. The American justice system is a beautiful thing when ran by good just men. I think we have very corrupt DA's that are too soft on violent crime. In El Salvador we had corrupt judges, DA's, attorneys, governors, mayors, presidents and entire cabinets. I'm actually a little disturbed by those numbers. Pre-2016, what do you think that poll would've said. A convicted felon running for President of the United States would not have only 50% of people saying they shouldn't run. I honestly can't believe this is where we are.

If you conducted an honest poll, I would bet you that the vast majority of Republicans disapprove of the judicial system, and are in favor of a protected class judicial system. Very few Republicans much less MAGA Trumpers actually believe in equal rights. This is a party that only thinks about one thing... power. It's not even about money with the voting class. Many of them on a daily basis harm themselves financially for the sake of power, or the cathartic feeling of power over those they feel are beneath them.

Constitutionally we are pretty rock solid but the Congress, and Judiciary are 2/3 of the power the Constitution creates for that Democracy. 2/3 of our government has decided that Trump is truly above the law, and works every day to do things to take away the freedoms of regular Americans without said privilege.

As for Salvy, since I'm not El Salvadorian and only pass through via airports, I'm going to take his beliefs at face value (plus the popularity evidence shows it too), that peaceful dictatorships (we can quabble over terminology) are preferred to what used to be going on due to extreme and oppressive gang violence. That's fine. I can't argue one way or another on it. I'm not El Salvadorian and Salvy is. As for America, I do think a growing faction within MAGA (and also among Democrats) are becoming more accepting of removing separation of powers, removing due process, and just having patisan rule, mainly through the president. This is not what the Constitution is about, but this is what people have come to increasingly want. Is it what the majority wants? We'll see what happens.
