The remain in Mexico policy is still in effect due to U.S. court appeals. However, Mexico has rejected this. Your point is moot. Republicans negotiated the current proposed bill. Republicans wanted the bill. It is the best bi-partisan bill they are going to get. They were all for it until their orange God told them it wasn't good for his prospects during campaign season. Republicans have even come out and said they are blocking the bill because of Trump.

The group that represents our Border Patrol agents have endorsed the bi-partisan bill. A strong stance would be all of the things I asked you about that are in the bill including more customs and border patrol agents, more judges and staff, more scanners, etc. During Trump's presidency we had caravans of migrants coming to the U.S from all over Mexico and Central America. The bi-Partisan border bill would not only make the border more secure, it would help remove those that don't qualify for asylum. Biden invited Trump to work on the bill and change things he didn't like or add to the bill. Trump has not agreed to that invitation. What is it about the bill makes it garbage? Why didn't Trump agree to work on the bill with Biden and congress to fix the problem?
