We have a true divide among Americans, if you're for trump your attitude is "your either with us or against us. and if you're against us you're a POS and you're our enemy, if you loathe trump, you want him to go to prison and at best not be the Commander in Chief. I don't know if a defeat in 2024 to maga would spell the end of them, there grooming up and coming gop members (like mtg, boobert, gaetz etc) to follow in there steps and there are enough racist folks to fill the vacant seats. I dont see folks on the left or middle spouting the rhetoric that maga does, especially by there leader........he is not running as a unifier of the country, hell maga won't let Biden do things that are actually good for the country because they want to show America that the libs suck.......they would actually sabotage a good economy or a good initiative just to fuel their narrative. I hope all the polls that show trump way ahead on biden are simply wrong, like the red wave that was predicted last year, Obama made the point in 2020 that Democracy was at stake rings even truer in 2024. We shouldn’t dismiss the polls but I don’t think they are definitive. We can’t ignore that Biden is personally unpopular. He’s old, he looks lost at times and makes gaffes all the time. There is also strong divisions regarding the Democratic base on Israel and economic numbers on inflation take time. On the other side Trump’s approval ratings aren’t getting much better and he’s still viewed very negatively by most of the country. Most of the issues strongly favor the Democrats and even when polling has looked bad Democrats have still been able to outperform Republicans in recent elections.
Trump is *just as old* and makes *just as many gaffees* as biden but the narrative around Trump isnt that. It just blows my mind how Trump can claim that ww2 didnt happen and it doesnt make any headlines cuz hes "not a politician." Trump claims there were airplanes in the 1700s and it makes no news cuz its just trump being Trump. Both aren’t looked at the same. The perception is one is energetic while the other isn’t. I agree it’s an unfair comparison given Trump’s energy is in stuff that like the election was stolen and grievances but that is why there is a difference in perception.

I don’t agree with it and am not defending Trump. I’m just explaining why this perception exist. It is unfair to Biden and does expose a major problem in our culture how we perceive people. The thing that makes no sense with what youre saying is Biden polls better than other democrats. Newsom, Gretchen, and others have shown in poll after poll that they actually do worst than biden against Trump in a matchup. The problem isnt with biden or else these candidates would be beating Trumps. The fundamental problem is the media doesnt know how to cover Trump cuz hes a dictator. Everyone gives Trump the benefit of the doubt like yourself as you mentioned Bidens Gaffees but not trumps. The media and cable news has no method to cover someone like Trump.
