My interpretation is the dude needs to reign it in a little, especially since this is not Phoenix he's playing for. This is a team with Yao. Don't throw the ball away. Keep the TOs down. Don't take possessions away from Yao. Cool down.

OK, chron.com just came back up (figures right after I bought another copy). So figured I'd add in the official link to the article (per forum rules). In the paper version this is under the "Camp Break" sidebar, which I guess they'll do every day. This article is not just about VSpan. There's some TMac quotes, too.

Just FYI, Clutch is on his way back to Houston. He managed to get some one-on-one interview time with Bonzi, V-Span, Novak and Hayes from what he told me.

He decided to hold off on the stories he was planning to write last night until he could speak to a few more guys today. I wouldn't expect an update before later tonight.

Excellent. JVG is going easy on the 2xday practices, at least for now.

In the article above that HP, just posted:

It did not take long for coach Jeff Van Gundy to ease up on the training camp schedule. Determined to limit wear and tear, he canceled today's second practice.

I hope he will shed more light on the recovery and/or lingering injury problems faced by some of the players.

From what I understand, they only allowed tv stations to do limited amount of video and no photographers. That's not just for Clutch, but for everyone. Thing is, there is only very limited media covering it anyway - at least directly in Austin.

Thanks Jeff, I was just curious to know if there were going to be any pics posted. I'm starting vacation and was all pumped about things until I heard about Yao's toe! I hope this isn't serious.

seems yao missing practice is completely cautionary at this point, especially following last season. can't say i'm not really nervous anyways, but i'm staying optimistic. feigan said he practiced with little pain this morning and yesterday afternoon, which i take as good news....
