All the club seats are sold out. It is just a matter of no-shows. The suites are another story and I know they do sell them on an individual game basis. I seriously doubt they will open those seats to anyone late in the game. They never did that in the Compaq Center even though people managed to get down there. I think it was a mistake. I'm not a fan of it and the first time I saw the configuration, I complained that fans were going to feel like there was a very have's vs. have not's feel in the building. I was right because they have received those complaints and in fairly large numbers. It was disappointing, but they aren't going to re-design the building so we'll likely have to live with it.
You know an easy way to solve that is to have scanners at the entrance and just have people scan their tickets on the way in. That way, you could instantly know which seats are occupied or not.
People do arrive late, and have a right to the seat they purchased. My favorite story... Back in the 70's I went to a lot of Astros games. Had a favorite seat in the yellow general admission section. Once we snuck down to the red seats about the third inning. I kept looking over my shoulder, but calmed down and begin enjoying myself about the fifth. At the seventh inniing stretch this guy comes in for his seats and bounces us. My frined say 7th inning? The guy, a young guy, with a babe on each arm apologizes, "sorry, it was the best I could do." Now that is a role model.
I messed up my hearing in my right ear so I can't comment on the sound from last night but as a vet of dozens of concerts over the years at the summit I would think TC couldn't help but be better. Darn sure couldn't be worse. Ah you forgot about the baked pototo at Pappas BBQ at the summit. As for the Veggie food I can see your point. I think those salad stands are a good idea. Give the people at least one healty option. The difference between the upper level and the lower level in finish quality is amazing. I remember thinking the first time I was at TC, "Is this finished?" Also I miss the hustle board. The perfect place for this information is on the center jumbo displays. They are 8 sided and have the scores on the N,S,E & W side but then a big Texas Toyota Tundra ad on the other 4 spots. If the Tundra having it's own luxury box isn't going to make me go out and buy one then having an ad where some stats should be damn sure isn't. Anyway I had a good time last night. Good win for the home team.
Love the Rox, but maybe locals can clue me in on something: what's up with the MC? I have yet to hear anything (this season) lamer than the monotone "DEFENSE" chant....I hope he's a local celeb (like I said, please clue me in). The home opener did look empty on TV....
Last night the music was better. and I could see an effort was made with the t-shirts. I dont see why they dont drop stuff from the catwalks anymore. I dont see Jeff and Coop throwing shirts anymore either. What happened to the "farting" sound as the opposing team would shoot freethrows? I thought that was funny, but it could get old quick. I think the Bi-Polar Clutch thing could be insulting to people who have or know someone affected by bi-polar. Excellent: Instant Replays Halftime Highlights Italian Sausage and Peppers
That's what the TMac Bobbleheads were for. Free Parking, Free Bobblehead, and 12 dollars for food. I should have eaten before the game. Jesus Christ...7.50 for pizza. I had a chicken tender basket, wasn't TOO bad compared to the rest of the food prices.
rocketman95.. but do the cubs sell the same ticket twice.. I do'nt know if you can sell seat 4 row A to someone.. then later in the game sell it to someone else and collect money twice for one seat.. especially since there is no rule saying a person has to show up before whatever quarter
I think you only get 3 chicken strips in that basket though... am i correct? I remeber wanting it once, but passed due to the number of strips compared to the price.
Yikes!!! I stick to Luthers at Reliant, but Arnandas is looking GOOD!!! Too bad they dont take debit cards.
I honestly don't understand the obsession with free shirts, free bobbleheads, hating corporate no-shows, etc. You pay for a ticket for where you sit. Maybe you don't get free t-shirts, BUT, on the other hand, if you sit in the East or West Club, you're paying $100 - $200 a ticket as opposed to the $10 - $30 you pay for the upper deck. You pay 10x as much, you get a free t-shirt... ...who cares?
I was thinking the same thing JayZ. Last time i was at a game, i was trying to catch a shirt like a mad man too.. but then i thought about it and came to the conclusion that i was being silly. haha.. its like a 5 dollar t-shirt...
I don't care much about the T's. The dead crowds is what gets to me. Maybe I'm just spoiled from working at the Texans games and hearing the crowd get into it 99% of the game.
