The time that I was really surprised that no flag was thrown was the play where JJ Watt injured Mettenberg....that was pretty bad according to the letter of the rules.
oh wow that's horrible. that's basically the injury that ended chris simms career, which he was just getting going at the time. simms didn't even know. i recall the story was something he almost died on the field.

I dont have the abilty but it was kinda bad, not only did he have time to pull up he drove him into the ground.
I don't have it, but I'll post it if I see it somewhere. From what I remember, he rode him into the ground and all of it was after the ball was out.
That said, they did sort of poke the beast by Kendall Wright doing a "selfie" celebration in the end zone after they scored on the previous possession. Making Watt angry is suicide.

Simms took several hits that day and actually ruptured his spleen. Huge risk of bleeding to death in his case. He stayed in the game and kept playing, further worsening his injury. He finally went to the er after the game, with his condition deteriorating. They did emergency surgery. Estimated he lost 5 pints of blood. Said he would have been dead within 45 minutes per Wikipedia. His career was never the same. A lacerstion, while very serious, isn't quite as bad.
nice! maybe 18 years from not jon gruden is going to be talking about fitzpatrick jr being fascinated by octagons and huffman coding. what can you say about ryan, smiling, being the best teammate he can be.
I'm curious to hear how Suifillo (sp?) did by someone who watches Oline play. The Oline was pretty dominant today and I know he got some good reps as part of that. Would be nice if that guy was just a late bloomer and really does have the talent they were hoping for when they drafted him.
Fitz had had a Passer Rating of 147.5 and a QBR of 99.6 for the game. It pulled his season Passer Rating up to 96.4 which ranks him #9 in that category.
Not to minimize Fitz's great game yesterday....it was awesome...but I remember when David Carr spent a good portion of the season leading the league in QBR once. I stopped paying attention to that stat after that season
