I can't imagine McNair bringing him back after another 8 win season. Didn't he say in the beginning of the season that being a 500 team isn't enough?

I personally have never been in the anti-Kubiak crowd, but after tonight I'm certainly getting weary of him and his coaching failures. I don't think any knowledgeable fan really expected the Texans to gash the Titans in the running game tonight -- they do have one of the best rush defenses in the NFL. But what was infuriating was how they kept Slaton moping on the sidelines and wasted so many valuable downs handing off to Brown instead of finding ways to get Slaton the ball in space where he can make plays. I mean, for the love of God, please explain to me how you get to 1st and goal and hand off to Chris Brown up the middle on 1st and 2nd down? Against the best rush defense in the NFL? And then when both plays fail, you can't even get your 3rd down play off properly?

Schaub threw into the endzone ONE time this game, and that was on AJ's TD catch. That is just unacceptable for an offense that is supposed to rely on the passing game as it's strength. I really can't malign the defense -- despite the rushing numbers I thought they did a decent job containing Johnson, even though they never could find a way to prevent Young from scrambling for 1st down whenever they collapsed the pocket. At the end they still held the Titans to six points in the second half, which should have been more than enough for the offense to do its part.

Then who are you going to blame? It's not a matter of 'oh that's what Vince does' as though every team the Titans play are just not going to worry about it.

Well, he didn't bust any big runs to the endzone, and he's a beast, so that is worth noting.

But you didn't say 'contain'. You said the run defense was 'incredible'. when the back runs on you for 150+ yards that's not 'incredible'. That's just a simple fact.

I can't blame the whole secondary. Pollard was pretty much a man out there, but CJ got away from him once. Agree about the Dunta sucking part though.

I thought given up 150 yards was a good job.

He didn't bust the big one.

Sorry, not going to pin a VY scramble after he dumps his 2nd read on the Run D. Blame whoever you want. It's not their fault. For that I blame the DL and coaches. Especially in obvious passing downs if guys are put out of position.

    They did play incredible.

30 rushes from CJ. Nary a game breaker and he was held a yard and a half under his average.

For the best RB in football, that is a damned good job.

Sorry, I'm not throwing the run D under the bus this game. The Titans ran the crap out of the ball and the D played it well enough to give our offense A LOT of chances to win the game. They, unfortunately, didn't live up to their part.

I'm really shocked people are only looking at the total yards and bagging on the run D.

If you watched the game and you know what Chris Johnson is capable of, you had to be impressed.

Then whose fault is it? I'm honestly asking here. If this is what VY does, teams are going to stop it, no? Or are we just assuming that no one can?

EDIT: Also want to point out that some of these weren't just scrambles after the play broke down. Some of this was by design. We couldn't stop it, and had no answer for it.

thinking 'incredible' is a bit much != 'throwing them under the bus'

They did do a good job.

We'll see if you'll come back and troll after the Titans drop the next two and fall to 4-8.

Patience is a virtue. We're the youngest team in the league and these are tough growing pains.

We just need to find a way to get over the hump. We'll have a new head coach if we don't finish 4-2.

Bob McNair is such a pansy. He should have fired Charlie Caserly the second he signed Tony Basselli to a $1 million contract. Absolute garbage as a GM. He should have fired Capers after it was obvious the guy coached the game "to not lose". Which was probably the second season.

He should fire Kubiak. Is Matt Schaub the only NFL quaterback who does not audible?

    Cohwer in 2010!

    Crucial loss
    Character Loss

Kubiak has GOT TO not let this team go into the dumper
Losing to INDY next week could break their backs and will

Texans fans felt the offense was high octane . .that did not play out
Texans fans thought the run defense could contain . .. that did not play out

I saw alot of 30+ point prediction got the Texans

Folx say Schaub has not running game and it is killing the Texans
    The Titans
are the opposite. . no Andre Johnsons over there but they can run

This *IS THE* rivalry for the Texans

I cant sleep. I am absolutely at a loss for how this team continues to find ways to lose. Like some previous posters mentioned, I have never been the "fire the coach" type of fan, but this is getting dumb.

Kubiak has continuously made bonehead decisions in every aspect of the game and it is stunting the growth of what should be a very good football team.

It starts and ends with the coach. His time is/should be done here.

Yep I'm feeling the same way right about now..

It would have been nice to get even 5-7 yards on the second to last play. Also, I'm having a hard time getting over the blunder from the Colts game where we should have ran a play.

Kubiak trusted two rookie coordinators to get the job done and he's going to pay the price for it. 9-7 probably saves him his job but I still think that would be underachieving.

Moats must have been hurt or something. He wasn't even returning kicks.

And for Slaton supposedly getting the starting job tonight, 11 touches for Brown and 5 for Slaton certainly makes me wonder about Kubiak and his stupid head games.

underachieving, we should have beaten the colts, titans, and the jaguars. we've lost to all of the teams in our conference, again. i don't think this team does anything in the playoffs. this team WILL not win a superbowl, but with another coach, and an offensive line, a better secondary, with a running game, i like our chances.

shaubs the real deal. he can play. slaton, not so sure. our secondary sucks. our offensive line sucks as well, just my 2 cents.

That loss was so depressing, I couldn't trust myself to post last night. After a good solid 3 hours of sleep, I'm a little more cohesive. I've just read page 50 of the thread, but sammy says it best for me. I'm still excited about this team. We just have to learn how to pull games out. When we do that, then we'll be a force to reckon with. Besides with an all-pro TE, we win this game. The Texans and Rockets are in the same situation and they're both exciting to watch!

Give them some more time. We'll be rewarded!
