I was more confused why the hell the Texans were playing Chris Brown so much. Speaking from experience as a Titans fan. The guy sucks. It is amazing that he is not on IR by this time in the season. He either fumbles at a cruicial time or gets injured.

The fact that he is taking playing time from Slaton is a crying shame. I realize Slaton is dealing with his share of issues but Chris Brown sucks and Slaton is far better and more explosive back than Chris Brown. I was pulling for Slaton since I started him on my fantasy team tonight.

Also confused why the Texans did not have Andre Johnson lined up more against Nick Harper and go straight at him. The times they did it led to great results for the Texans. I would say that Harper gives everyone a freaking 10-12 yard cushion. Hell Harper is Andres personal bit#h. The way he has played it would seem that the Texans should be paying for a portion of Harpers salary. He helps them so much.

i side with kubiak here... they had time for a single play - if ANYTHING goes wrong (bad snap, sack, fumble, interception - i mean, you could list a dozen things), you've killed your shot at a makeable game-tying FG. no way you risk that for 5-10 more yards. no way.

oh, i blame him; big time. if you miss - push - two game-tying FGs in back-to-back weeks... i mean, who else is responsible for that? snap was good, hold was good....

btw, guys: this isn't over. not by a long shot. i thought they needed to win 3 of their next 4. now they need to win 3 in a row. but two are at home and they can beat jax in jax. its doable. it's not ALL doom and gloom. i mean, my god - they're a game back of the WC with a game left against one of the current WC teams (jax).

and further, guys - kubiak is not going to be fired (unless they finish 5-11, or something insane). he hasn't been perfect; he's made mistakes and bad decisions. but the team has been in place to tie 4 games on the final play and the *players* haven't come through. maybe a better coach doesn't need last second ties but.... i just don't see how a team could literally be 4 plays away from a RADICALLY different season and its the head coach's fault.

if they win 8-10 games, i think he'll almost certainly be back.

Everyone is going to blame Kris Brown, but Slaton dropped an easy catch and would've gotten the first down.

So what happened to Ryan Moats all of a sudden ?

Kubiak should get canned just for the way he used the other Brown. The effin Browns contributing to 4 BRUTAL losses.

Bye Bye playoffs unless we go 6-0. Titans played hard..gotta give them credit

Just got back from the game.

    Instant thoughts.

    1) Brian Cushing is my *****ing hero. God. What a BAMF. He was everywhere. He was barking at CJ all game and he totally owned him. The run defense overall was just incredible.

    2) Vince turned to the south endzone crowd once in the late 3rd quarter during a timeout expecting to hear cheers for himself... instead, he got RESOUNDINGLY and AUTHORITATIVELY booed. I was never prouder of the Houston fans for sticking up for their city and their team like they did tonight. Super loud from gun to gun.

There were two defenders as soon as he turned. I doubt he would have gotten the first.

Kris Brown is paid to make kicks. Simple as that. Make the KICKS!

the chris brown start did strike me as curious and maybe a case of a coach making a move for the sake of making a move... but he averaged 3.3ish yards a carry, about what the team is averaging for the year. i certainly think slaton and moats have bigger, better potential, more game-breaking speed. but brown wasn't any less effective tonight than our backs have been the rest of this year and, not an insignificant deal: he didn't fumble.

Whatever works for you. If you feel the need to feel to believe in them the way you do then by all means be my guest. But I have spent my time in purgatory believing in the the Oilers, Astros and Rockets and I decided no more.

I have been very candid in my lack of confidence in about Kubiak and his ZBS philosophy but while I am not all Rah-Rah about this team and what he's doing, I still have no interest or desire to see them fail again. I wish them well Sunday aganst the Colts. But I'm not buying any of the spin that Kubiak and company is selling. Henceforth, I will not believe that this team, this franchise, is for real until they start putting up the Ws - until they prove on the field that they are capable of getting the job done. Because at the end of the day, that why you play the game.

Eh, it looked like he got beaten to the corner to give up first downs a bunch in the second half, also the Titans rolled up over 230 yards rushing, including 151 to Johnson -if that's incredible run defense - well etc.

    I don't really count Vince's scrambling yards.

They played the run very well though.

I was expecting some major breakdowns, but they never really happened.

its more than the kicker or slaton, although they are killing us too. There is something very crucial missing from this team. We have a very hard time converting on 3rd downs. We have an extremely hard time picking up blitzes. We drop passes. We get called for ridiculous penalties. We have a very hard time stopping the other team on 3rd down. We usually go backwards once we are in the red zone. Our play calling is just awful awful awful. Shaub is too slow to react properly when the pocket collapses and it kills us. We never take any chances and we can't move the dang ball!

I'm over it and Koob the boob needs to go. He's a terrible game coach one of the worst I have ever seen. We have enough talent to get it done but he has instilled the loser virus in our team. WHY THE F*** was Chris Brown running the ball?????? Kubiak needs to go away. We won't make the playoffs and if we do we'll get slaughtered.

WHY WAS CHRIS BROWN RUNNING THE BALL AND HOW IS THAT GUY ALLOWED TO PUT A UNIFORM ON? HE IS FREAKING TERRIBLE AND REAL REAL SLOW. GIVING HIM THE BALL IS GIVING THE OTHER TEAM THE WIN.

fire kubiak please. Freaking GLANVILLE would have won this game.

Bottom line is that the Texans offense was held to 3 points in the second half. That is unacceptable, and the coaching was just headscratching at times. The few times Slaton was able to get into the game, with the exception of one major dropped pass in the 4th, he looked pretty explosive especially in open space. But all we saw was Kubiak being ultra conservative. Brown falling forward for 3 yards all day long. I don't get it. You're in the red zone, first and goal. First two downs you hand off to Chris Brown for a yard and a half. WTH? Then you throw a lame quick screen to Slaton which is busted before the play even happens.

It's so frustrating being a Texans fan. If Kubiak cannot come up with answers in games like this, I don't see how he can lead this team to postseason success.

Gruden seemed to like the team during the game, maybe he would like to coach the team next season

Yeah, this is what I see as well. I just don't believe that McNair has the stomach to go through another 3-4 year rebuilding period with another new coach & staff so Coach ZBS will get at least 1 more year to show that he can get the job done.
