Who said anything about a joke? I'm not joking about the guy and am not happy he's injured. I don't wish that on him, I just don't feel bad for him. Maybe he can see the light and take your approach when talking about another player being injured. Coming from a guy who tries to stomp another player's head when he's down (albeit a cowgirl ), I don't see that happening. Anyway, I'm happy for the Texans and hope this is a sign of the things to come.
While I'm sure it isn't the biggest part of it, I seem to recall another correllation to the defense's sudden resurgence was Adibi being in the starting lineup. Xavier languished on the bench most of the season, but when he finally got in the game, he really surprised me with his speed and motor. He was all over the field and in a lot of plays. He made some mistakes, like any rookie, but he showed the promise I hoped for him when we drafted the guy. I had just assumed he was a bust when he got barely any reps early on in the season (I know he had injury issues as well). I hope he doesn't turn out to be injury prone. How early in the game was he hurt yesterday? I didn't know he was out of the game until this morning (which I guess is a testament to Greenwood's job as well).
Texan Fans, Congrats on a great win!!! The Texans played a hell of a game... As a Titans fan I could not understand why Fisher did not kick it on 4th and 3. It was set up picture perfect for a typical Titans script. But, the bigger issue I had was why the play was designed for Justin McCarins who should have been on the bench. The guy killed us worse than Andre Johnson. And Andre beat the crap out of us. The man has mad skills. Props again for a great win... You guys have an exciting offensive core to build around. A. Johnson, S. Slaton, O. Daniels. If ever this team can put all the pieces together for a consistent period of time you will be winning alot of games.
my point is that the trend developed when there was nothing to lose. they win NOW, but did not against indy. <-we flat out showed we are not ready for prime time with that choke job. that game mattered, and we were manhandling them in a turning point-of-the-franchise kinda way, and we blew it. that's what i mean.
I understand. I think we're playing better now than we were then. I think something has clicked with the defense. I think we still need to find a way to score TD's. But I'm tons more encouraged about this team now than I was at the end of last season.
awesome! i was out on leave after last year, though. i thought they'd win about 6 games this season. very happy to be wrong.
tough to say that. There was something to lose the previous 3 games. And the GB win was a relatively quality opponent in a very tough environment. They were still in the playoff possibility picture at the time.. though it was an outside shot
Otherwise known as a normal sports fan. Also, most teams would pack it in for the season at 3-7. Most fans too. Hell, I almost did. Almost. Hard to believe we could finish at 9-7 after that 0-4 start.
makes me nervous when everyone keeps saying that. Complete optimism has never been a positive. Let's say 'we could finish 8-8' for now.. just want to win this next game first..
"Could" being the key word. Believe me, I'm by no means predicting it. Just saying it's possible. Never would have thought it was possible when we were 3-7.
Just think if we would have beaten jacksonville in OT, and the colts game we would be there with the ravens and colts! We get another good draft pick though! i say take a hard hitting safety! Reeves has been playing alot better towards the end of the season, proud of him as well, really stepped it up!
Or what if Miami used more clock on their last TD drive? Or if there's no block in the back penalty that brought back that GB kick return TD? Or if Fisher kicks the FG? We could play 'what if' all day long. The thing is, these 'what if's' tend to even out as the season goes on. Yes, even with the Texans, as hard as that is to believe sometimes.
^exactly. as jvg would say, you are what your record says you are. 7-7 is the very definition of mediocrity.
Reeves always seems to be the one that gets burned, but when you watch the replay, he's all over the guy. The wr's that make catches against him really have to work to do it and it has to be a perfect throw. He's impressed me more and more as the season has gone on.
