I have to give the team props on how they rebounded from an 0-4 start. They could have laid it down....especially once they were eliminated from playoff contention. Yet they are continuing to play hard..........
They didnt like my titans jersey or me motioning first downs. I can understand it but whatever, i didnt want him to do something crazy to me/my gf.
nice job reappearing in the thread but not saying a damn thing about the team you dissed enough times while they held the lead still..
Great win today, just an all around great effort on both sides of the ball. But Fisher made a HUGE mistake by not kicking that FG, I couldn't believe he made that call.
Good luck to them in the playoffs! WIthout haynesworth Schaub standing in the end haynesworth on the trainers table bwaaaaawaawwabwaaa
Another thing, Kubiak needs to have a talk with some of the guys upstairs. That challenge on the punt was ridiculous.
Can you elaborate? Not trying to bait, I'm just really curious how it's anything but a no-brainer to go for it, as I predicted during the two-minute timeout. Whether Bironas makes the kick or not, there are still two minutes that have to come off the clock. That's the issue. There are two options as to how to play those final two minutes for the Titans to win the game. The first option is to kick the field goal, and then hope the defense keeps the Texans out of field goal range. Keep in mind that the Texans would have two minutes and two timeouts and likely decent field position off the kickoff. They also have a top five offense and put up 375 total yards today. The second option is to try and pick up the 4th and 3, and then run the clock down and kick an even shorter field goal at the gun. So, as I see it, if you're Jeff Fisher, you're asking yourself the following: Assuming Bironas makes the kick, which of these two scenarios do I consider more likely: our offense picking up three yards, or our defense keeping the Texans out of field goal range? Unless you're going up against an opposing offense that's just God awful, I think every coach in the league would say picking up three yards is more likely. Remember, it's not just about if you score -- it's also when. See what happened to UT on Nov. 1 as evidence.
I see what you're saying but I still completely disagree. I still think you take the points in that situation and rely on your (usually) strong defense to hold. That's conventional thinking. That's what most head coaches would have done in that situation. Two minutes is plenty of time to get a score but it's still only two minutes. If it were merely about picking up the first down to keep the offense on the field Fisher would have called a shorter, higher percentage play. Not a risky [but nearly successful] loft 30 yards down the field.
If the field goal would put you up four to where the opposing offense would need to score a TD, yeah, I think most head coaches would kick. But if the other team only needs a FG, I think most coaches would go for it if the other team has a competent offense (Texans are top five in the league). Yeah, we absolutely agree here. The play call was just stupid.
WOW! Did not expect. So very, very happy! Take THAT, tittys and titty fans!! 7-7. A win, squeaker notwithstanding, against a quality opponent (the t*** were a far better team even without Vandenbosch). Evidently, the Texans do not suck. And, by definition, they are not losers (7-7). At least not this week! FOUR IN A ROW! If they can beat Detroit in Detroit next week (that team'll have a chip on its shoulder), they'll be over .500 for the first time ever after like week 3. Baby steps, indeed! msn is happy.
If I was Fisher, I would have kicked it. I would think my D is better than their Offense. Unless he thinks his D isn't good enough to stop the Texans...
