ESPN just reported this as well.

Looks like the Texans are in trouble. Rock N Roll! Field Goal! :(

If the roof is closed today because the temp is expected to be just a tad bit above 85 degrees (which is the supposed cutoff), I will be THOUROUGHLY pissed.

This is some of the best weather Houston has had all year... and we built a freaking stadium with a freaking retractable roof for a freaking reason.

EDIT: apparently the 60% chance of thunderstorms is dictating the roof to be closed... I'd rather they wait till the storms actually look like they're going to hit the area before they decide that (even though that's against the policy).

I think he may have meant their Chris Brown.

    our kicker is Kris Brown.

He's my kicker, so i ran to yahoo to get a new kicker. Turns out, he is probable, but will play.

Keyshawn Johnson just told Titan fans not to worry about Vince Young sitting out. Kerry Collins won't have to score very many points with that tennessee defense.

David Carr and company are in for a long day...

Even though it disappoints me that we'll have to wait a few more weeks to take down Vince, it makes me smile a little bit that all the VY cultists wasted their time and money to come to a regular Texans gane, when they said they were boycotting. :)

Turned my phone off last night so that I could get as much sleep as possible this morning. Missed three calls and a text from my buddy asking if I wanted to join him in his suite.

Why are you a Titan fan? I understand being a VYOF but rooting for them to win when VY isn't even playing?!? This is too much for me.

Haha. You are a moron. Your cant pass, running to get hurt superhero wont even be playing. I hope you feel like a champ wearing your VY jersey when hes not even playing. Maybe you should wear a Britteny Spears shirt instead. You are the same kind of idiotic fan.

Almost as frustrating as having to open the roof in 50 degree weather at night in a city where anything below 70 is considered freezing....I'll never get past that one.

Well, to their defense, I don't think MMP has a "heater" to keep it warm... it just protects against the heat (I'm assuming you're referring to the world series games). Thus, it would have been chilly regardless... I was more upset that it somewhat interferred with the crowd factor.

Kudos to the roof staff if it actually starts pouring during the game today... but they're threatening to not have ANY games played under a natural sky for the season if the conditions/requirements are this stringent.

Well, at least the VYOF's won't have a rooting interest unless they want to tout Vince's clipboard holding leadership skills. That, combined with some of the being at Reliant, should make this thread a little more tolerable than I was expecting.

    fingers crossed

It's not even supposed to rain today. Remember the incredible weather we had yesterday? Low 80s and not a single cloud in the sky....it's going to be like that today.

Roof report says its closed because of a 60% CHANCE of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Roof policy is that the roof must stay opened or closed for the ENTIRE game, and that decision must be made before-hand. No mid-game change of elements.

If its because of the "heat"... then I'll be the first to say that Houstonians are a bunch of pansies if they complain about sitting outside in this weather.

EDIT: Just re-read the policy... turns out that it must be between 50 and 80 degrees for the roof to be open. Anything more than that, its automatically closed due to some study saying that the direct sun + no wind adds about 18 degrees to the actual temperature (ie - season ticket holders start complaining). Big waste of money (having the luxury of the roof at all), if you ask me.
