[/QUOTE] its not just vince young, they also passed on derrick johnson for travis johnson who hasn't played well till this season.
Very well put but while McNair did nearly everything right in bringing pro football back to the city, he failed to learn from the history of pro football in Houston. The very last thing they needed to do was to recreate the legacy of losing and futility that the Oilers left behind like a big stinking cowpie. In his arrogance and that of the C&C Idiot Factory, that's exactly what he's managed to provide. As for VY, the rabid UT fan-love for this guy stems from the fact that he led the Longhorns to their first National title in 35 years. That puts him in the same class as the sainted DKR. Getting mad at their devotion to VY and yelling at them to "get over it" is going to do nothing to win them over to the side of the Texans.
Haynesworth said he didn't think it was a helmet-to-helmet hit and said it would have been better if Schaub would have stayed in. "Well, heck, I mean we probably would have won this game 35-7 if he stayed in," Haynesworth said. That was in the article above what u posted, and in my opinion makes what he says not so "classless". Also, the hit wasnt a helmet-helmet and was a pretty clean play (hurt a lot im sure) from the replays I have seen. should not have been a 15 yard penalty.
Um....sorry, but D-linemen are SUPPOSED to knock the QB out of the game. That's what they're paid to do. I only wish ours could get close enough to a QB to do it...
it wasn't a helmet to helmet hit, I could see a problem with driving him into the ground, but even cross (play by play guy) said it wasn't helmet to helmet. haynesworth is just nasty.
David Carr was only 3-1 against the Colts and Jaguars (combined 9-1 right now) last season. He must have been a stud! Also, 155 rushing yards... 4.0 YPC... both above the Titans' season average. 104 yards for LenDale White, and 11 carries for 57 yards (5.2 YPC) for Chris Henry and a touchdown. I thought the only reason the Titans could run the ball was baby Jesus? Titans vs. Texans: 422 total yards Titans their last five games: 317 (much with Collins), 249, 284, 313, 350 They moved the ball much more efficiently, scored more points, and ran at an even higher level of productivity. It seems pretty clearcut. Yes, I know the Texans don't have a good run defense, but shouldn't that be offset by the loss of baby Jesus, since he's such a huge factor?
yeah, kerry collins proved to be so more effective when he got benched for a rookie last season. look, i blasted your point, their stats aren't much different. so move along they both beat the texans
And I countered your incredibly minor statistical example by putting it in a larger context that shows those two isolated numbers might be misleading.
You know you're desperate when you're talking smack on behalf of VY when journeyman Kerry Collins does the work and plays as good or better than VY has all season.
stat Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson, Super Bowl winners Will they go in the history books as superior to Carson Palmer, for example?
you're the only one who made the point about texas fans bragging about this victory on behalf of vy when I hadn't seen one person do that in this thread. but your point is weak anyway. its irrelevant, the texans still suck. but you can cry yourself to sleep know that it wasn't vy who beat them. i guess
brad johnson is a good qb, further proving your lack of foot ball knowledge is only exceeded by your arrogance about your football knowledge
No, I think it's a pretty strong one. I think it's very silly when people use the Mario decision to hate the Texans in a circumstance like yesterday where the alternative didn't even play and his team was perfectly fine (if not better) without him. Not to mention another breathtaking 3.2 YPC performance from Reggie... Also, it sounds pretty silly to say the Texans "suck" when they were all of a couple of inches on a Bironas field goal from defeating the Titans and having a better record... all while having their best player on the sidelines.
it pains me to say this , but i agree with mrdave. i didn't see what the problem was. haynesworth hit schaub just as he was releasing the ball. it was not as if he had 2 steps between them. when it comes to the helmet-to-helmet call, what is hayneworth supposed to do when it looks like their the same size. he tackled schaub with his arms wrapped around him, it was not as if he speared him.
Did I say he wasn't a good QB? Further proves you're too arrogant to actually read and think about what people actually said.
Point was that team wins don't reveal all that much about a QB. There are plenty of mediocre-to-good quarterbacks that have had better team success than great quarterbacks because they've had a better team around them.
