Well if you think about it good thing we didnt get RASHARD ... he's not worth the $ he's getting paid and we prob wont have end up with YAO if we had time. Rashard can't lead any team to playoff so things happen for a reason, and good thing it did
pheeww... man was that a lot of photos to sift thru.... All of the photos I shot can be seen here: http://www.610Photos.com <img src="http://610photos.com/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2277" />

Thanks for letting us see these. BTW, nice example for the kids... http://www.610photos.com/main.php?g2_itemId=2273 I am glad he's not a TEXANS' fan.
Yeah that evil man brought a sign to a football game! The horror! This is much worse than anything else he can do as a father.
Good post. In total agreement, once you exorcise the demon and clean all the skeletons from the closet left by C&C Idiot Factory or the aforementioned on this BBS, the DC Con Man and his Merry Band of Idiots, you will accidentally see pieces that make this team potentially competitive and fairly soon. It helps that we didnt go give up 3 picks for someone from SouthCentral Cal Poly Tech or give 2 picks to a talented DB but he cant tackle and cant cover. First of all, we picked players that play at schools used to intense competition. Alabama, NC State, Wisconsin. Yea for intelligence and common sense! All that being said, I just wonder if we will ever recover as a franchise from spurning VY. Arguably all 3 top picks this year could be potential HOF'ers, but yesterday had to be the DARKEST day here in Houston NFL sports since the Buffalo Massacre in 93. VY haunts us with an game ending TD run in OT here. RB gets a TD and receives for better than 100 yds in an absolute ass-kicking parade in the other NFL Texas city. Robaire Smith, the DE for the Titans we brilliantly released prior to the season, gets both coin flips in the game for the Titans. Buchanon, also apparently had an INT for the Bucs yesterday and oh yes, the denouement, VY embracing Satan on OUR home field after his exploits. Add on all the national pileons and insults and derisive laughter from ESPN to the talk shows and that all just made me want to vomit. Right now, until things change and change drastically the Texans ownership and front office is a joke! I dont say it cause it gives me any sardonic pleasure. I say it because it's the TRUTH! It has to get better because, I dread to think it could get much worse.
Well hope springs eternal and all that but be advised: Tennessee enjoys a far more favorable rebuilding period than do the Texans. First of all, even though their overall roster blows chunks, they are a better team right now compared with the Texans and are showing demonstrable improvement every game which is something you simply can't say about the Texans. This season for example they have notched wins against playoff teams, Indy & NY, against whom the Texans did their customary wiff job. That's something that they (Titans) can hang their hat on for next season. Next year they have 11 draft picks to use and are a whopping $41 million under the salary cap. They have their QB, RB and most of their OL in place. Barring something unforseen like Bud Adams running their draft & free agency, they are poised to get back to contention within the next 2 years. It's not inconceivable for them to have a 9-10 win season next year. The Texans, however, are a septic mess. They have some space under the cap but no to the extent that Tennessee does and they have far more holes to fill than do the Titans starting with QB, OL, RB, DL (again), LB, DB and K. They are at least 2 years away from respectability (6-8 wins) and 3 or more from contention. And this period could be extended if they are forced to start over at the QB position because it would take a new young QB at least 2 years to adjust and that's assuming something gets done about the woeful state of the OL. Also, while the Texans will be building from the "inside out", you have to know that the Titans won't exactly be standing still but will be also doing a little building of their own. Sorry, but right now it looks like the Texans will be chasing the Titans for years to come.
Well, nothing will change for the Texans until the organization admits to their mistakes and undertakes decisive actions to reach out to what's left of their fanbase. More importantly, there has to be a commitment by the entire organization that these dark days most foul will never EVER be allowed to come this way again. It was their arrogance and stupidity that has brought them all the laughter and derision you mentioned and unless this organization learns from this debacle, it will be repeated. And the only way for that to happen is for them to feel the same hurt and pain that so many of us are living with right now. It has to burn them with the same intensity that it burns each and every one of us. Whether or not that is case, I just don't know. McNair has gone into hiding while Kubiak keeps pretending that there is no controversy. David Carr is off somewhere listening to the sound of gentle ocean waves in his head. I've often mentioned that McNair failed to heed the lessons of history - specifically the history of professional football in Houston. Well, what he, Dom Capers and Charlie Casserly have managed to do is to recreate the Houston Oilers experience for all of those who are too young to remember it first-hand. And it's because of that I can truthfully say that as it was for the Oilers, for the Texans it can always get worse - MUCH worse.
Thats interesting and probably true. I wonder if they now realize their honeymoon is almost over. I remember thinking last year that it couldn't get worse. No more Casserly to blame either
Hillboy, Here are some thoughtful observations: Fact One: When it comes to Houston Sports organizations the fans OFTEN seem to know more and recommend better personnel moves than the "professionals." I have witnessed this phenomenon for decades. Fact Two: This fact is denied, made fun of, ignored, minimized, etc. on sports boards, in the news media, and by the organizations themselves calling the fans, "Monday morning quarterbacks, etc." Fact Three: Fact One continues to be true, season after season. Fact Four: Many of the fans are smarter, more knowledgeable, and better judges of talent than the Houston sports professionals. Face Five: Since this is also true of the Nation's governements at all levels, I suppose democracy is actually a really good idea, we just haven't tried it yet. Fact Six: Maybe "some" polling of the fanbase should be factored into personnel decisions. Fact Seven: Maybe those who govern should listen to those governed, like what ball to use.
My Final Thoughts- Now I know what it would have felt like if the Rockets had passed on Dream to draft Sam Bowie
Thank for making me understand I can now OFFICIALLY feel the Texans Pain Relating it to OILER PAIN has definately brought it home for me because yes that is exactly what they going through Rocket River I still remember when the Oilers let Sean Jones, Fuller, and Moon go in the same off season . . then wondered why they went 2-14 behind the strong arm or Cody Carlson the next year THEY WERE TANKING!!
Wow, another fresh take. I've never heard the Michael Jordan/Sam Bowie draft referenced here with regards to us taking Mario Williams over VY or Bush. I really can't believe that you were the first one to use it. Kudos, that's fresh. If Vince Young is the second coming of Jesus, why did he need OT to beat such a ****ty Texans team?
