The texans have not been introducing road players all year! They do normally introduce the texans offense or defense but did not do so today. They could have easily introduced the texans defense. The report you read was bs.
just got home from a long day of boozing. I went to the Texans game today, and after much thought that game couldnt have ended any other way. Are you kidding me, VY runs for a td in overtime, you could not have had hollywood write a better ending. I love the Texans, but every game it is getting tougher and tougher. I am going to go pass out now....
Vince probably needed no introduction. The moment he stepped onto the field, or his face hit the jumbtron, everybody would have yelled louder than they would have boo'd Carr. The report wasn't BS. they skipped the Texans intros on purpose.. and also skipped introducing the Titans..
what ticked me off is they didnt show the replay of the last play. they showed the texans highlights at the end of the game.why? they lost!
They have not introduced the visiting players all year! I have been to every game. The report is BS. the only thing unusual was not introducing the texans
Where did you think he learned it from? Yes the Rockets showed him some love. Cause Rockets are THE TEAM, they know heart!
I grew up in Houston. I remember there was a vote in the 90's to build a new stadium for the Oilers. My family voted yes. More people voted no and the Oilers left town. If it wasn't for our very own Jeff, the Rockets stadium vote wouldn't have passed either, and they'd be gone too. The lazyness and failure of Houstonians to vote for the Oilers woke up enough people that allowed us to keep the Astros and Rockets around. I moved away from Houston before the Texans came. I've had family and friends connections to the Texans, from players, to the immigrants who clean the stadium after all you people mess it up by not throwing your trash away at games. I don't see anything wrong with being a Titans fan and a Texans fan. I grew up on the Oilers and left before the Texans came. I still hope the Texans do well. But even as an Aggie, I can't help but like Vince Young. Watch his BET show. He's such a down to earth, fun, good guy. I think most of us should know better when it comes to the fans and loyalty and location issue. My gosh, aren't we on a Rockets board? We have all sorts of Rockets fans in here, from all over the world. We have houstonians, texans, old school fans, barkley fans, francis fans, yao fans....there are so many reasons to be fans, and we don't rag on New Yorkers for being Rockets fans. So why rag on Houstonians for being fans of other teams? I'm not a Houstonian anymore, but I don't think it's wrong for current Houstonians to be fans of other teams, especially when there's such a connection with the Titans organization, and of course the Vince Young Houstonian born and raised factor. But you guys have to remember that Houstonians kicked out the Oilers in the first place. Or is my memory wrong? I was just a kid, but I remember some sort of vote.
Jeff, this wasn't Bud Adams fault. Its not like the draft order was #1 Titans #2 Texans I dont like Bud Adams, doesnt mean I dont have to diss everyone on the Titans. I had friends who worked for Enron, were they knowingly screwing us? no.
there was no vote on that issue. it never got that far because adams never put together a proposal serious enough to take to the voters. the plan he presented to the city was based on half-truths and suppositions. including the notion that the rockets would play there too...despite the fact they had no interest in playing in a dome and made that fact very clear to everyone.
if 713 played 281, what side would you be on? would you explode in confusion? you cant be loyal for no apparent reason, thats straight Benny Hinn attitude. what about Enron? I support houston companies, lets support Enron!!! see??!!! you cant just be blind like that.
It basically came to a point where Adams realized he wasn't going to get what he wanted and so he just decided to come up with more and more ridiculous crap to make 100% certain the Oilers would leave town. The man wasn't serious about keeping them here to begin with, and after the way the team had performed in the 90s, it set the table for the perfect crap-storm. Looking back on the situation, the Oilers weren't going to stay here because Bud wasn't going to be reasonable. He was looking for a way out from almost the beginning.
remember, he signed an exclusive agreement to negotiate only with Nashville for nearly 12 months. by that time, it was done. there was nothing we could do. we couldn't even counter. he came back to town with a sweetheart deal in place. houston offered him an open-air stadium, but he turned it down.
