Oh yeah, you could just see the fear in his eyes on Sunday when he led the Titans on that 11 play, 95 yard drive in the 4th quarter that ate up 6:50 minutes to tie the game against one of the best teams in the league. I'm sure that he's absolutely terrified that Sunday's game is in Houston - no wait that's David Carr. My bad...
I'm sorry but I just don't see it. I have come to feel that David Carr really doesn't care if he wins or loses just as long as he's getting paid. That's why he has failed time and time again to rise up and make a statement in big games - he doesn't burn with the desire to win. Unfortunately for him, he'd better bring it come Sunday because I can guarantee that his counterpart across the field will be bringing it in spades.
My sarc meter's in the shop, so I hope you're joking around. Some folks: a) live too far, and b) can only dream of the necessary funds; so therefore they c) watch it on CBS. "Pretender"? They're probably more passionate than the first twenty rows of people all around the stadium (if it's anything like baseball and basketball), all combined.
a.i'm driving up sunday morning from austin. b.i sold playstation3s to get these tickets (maybe sarcastic lie) c. watch it on CBS??? Blah! they are only real fans if they watch it on CBS HD!!
I think you need to have a talk with your feeler. I think your feeler is smoking crack. Everything you hear from Dave and from those who around him, including those who really have no vested interest in making him look good (in other words press guys not named McClane), says otherwise. So, the reality may be closer to "he's frustrated, he wants to do better, but he probably won't be able to, at least not in Houston." You don't know that. None of us know that. Some of this intangibles talk can really get silly at times. Did VY want to win it more than USC? NO. He didn't "want it" more, and they didn't "want it" less. How did he win? He was better (that day). He was probably better most days. And, it's quite possible that DC just isn't better--most days, he just isn't better.
So you're not a "real fan" or a "TRUE FAN!!!" if you're working seven twelve-hour shifts for three weeks before getting a 40-hour week just to make ends meet, and the three hours and $20 you can find during the week you spend at McDonald's with your kids? Gotcha. I know we're just kidding around here, but on a more realistic note: I never, ever, EVER gauge someone's opinion based upon how he or she follows a sports franchise. It's a GAME. And, to the "fans", it's an entertainment decision. To gauge someone's character, look at whether he's on time to work, what he does with his money, what he's like at home, and whether he does what he says he'll do (as some examples). Even if he's a dreaded "bandwagon fan", if he passes thoses other areas he's a good guy.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/don_banks/12/04/draft.redo.part1/index.html I just saw a quick blurb on cnnsi about 2006 NFL draft redo's... they have mario williams going 6 to the niners and demeco ryans going 8th to the Bills. they have us picking......no not him. MARCUS McNEILL, OT Auburn
Carr may show up, doubt it though. We may set a record for rushes in a game. Keys to victory; Run, run, run ... and run some more! BTW, the Texans win eventhough Carr is 1-5 for 7 yds but he doesnt get sacked. After 7 minutes into the game, Kuby sets a record by completely abandoning the passing game due to its utter futility. Texans win with a Jerome Mathis KR TD, Wynn helps set up the other and for the creme de la creme, a a game deciding, 14 play 97 yd drive culminating with a 19 yd FG with 0:10 left in the game. Final: Texans 20, Titans 13. Dayne runs for 100, Lundy runs for 100, Gado runs for 100 and AJ runs for 100, the Waterboy runs for 100. A first, Chris "the Boomer" Berman is absolutely at a complete loss for words on Sportscenter.
If the Texans could do the draft over they would take VY in a heartbeat. You could put Carr with the best line in the NFL and he would still suck.
If we get a KR TD, that means the offense scored 13 points. If we rush for 500 yards and score 13 points, something's gone very, very wrong!
It was played in HOUSTON? Damn, I should have gone. If you remember, it was ROSENFELS throwing at the end of the game. and stop adding silly carriage returns, MAN!!! It makes this page long to read...!!!! jk. Tuck the fitans. I like Vince, but he's playing against my boys. Kubiak looks at tape of what our line did to spread the run on the Raiders and runs the same plays. Lundy runs for 155 and scores on a long run. Carr throws a touchdown and then on one interception he is pulled in the 3rd quarter, Rosenfels throws 2 touchdowns to Johnson. Mathis breaks one wide open. Rack up another WIN. Texans 38 artists formerly known as the Oilers 17 VAMOS, TEXANS!
I hate to say this, because I like Vince, but all this pro-Titan/Vince talk is really getting old. I really hope that Mario blast VY on the first play and knocks him out of the game...not break a leg or anything, but just a good concussion to have all The people comming in from Austin and where ever to have to sit there for the rest of the game and watch the Texas whip the VY-less Titans all the way back to Tenn. I'm sure there are a lot of you who agree with me.
