I'm not trying to offend him or anything. I just mentioned I didn't remember seeing him during the games and he said I was wrong. Not a big deal. I know he cares about the team. He's just mad at them. He'll come around.
And it's about cheering for your hometown boys too. I just hope Vince wants to play in Houston enough to make it happen someday...
Houston didn't want any part of the Oilers. Don't kid yourself. There's no way this team would be called the Oilers under any circumstances.
I'd venture guess this is why: 1) Already dropped a first overall pick on a QB 2) Carr had proven he could perform the year before 3) The last coaching regime was charged with being largely responsible for the 2-14 debacle 4) Didn't think the fans were patient enough to put up with 4-5 more years of rebuilding under a new rookie QB 5) We knew what Carr was capable of, as opposed to VY, who was a complete wildcard 6) Our biggest weakness was defensive passrush, period 7) Didn't want to seem like the organization was being run by the fans 8) Kubiak is a dirty aggie 9) Madmax and samfisher took a dump on Bob McNair's Rolls-Royce
Well if Vince winning as a Titan makes people respect Houston football then I'm all for it. But unfortunately it doesnt
Look guys, this whole thing started because the Texans management were idiots for not drafting Bush or Young (or even trade down for Leinart plus extra picks) I would be a Texans fan, but I got ripped off by Reliant Enron Haliburton Aramark Stadium charging me $4 for stale popcorn. On top of that they have nerve to put the stale popcorn in the popper to fool patrons to believe that the popcorn was fresh. What is that all about? that makes as much sense as David Carr's sense of line of scrimmage forward passes.
Why should this stop them? Let's keep sucking because we already suck and it's not so bad. When? We were the worst team in the NFL last year. Fair enough. False, in my opinion but a fair reasoning. I don't buy this. They knew they would have owned the city if they took VY. They would've had more patience than they do now. So we stay with someone we KNOW sucks because the other QB might suck and might not? Having an organization being run by the fans isn't necessarily a bad thing. Especially when fans are the ones paying the money for the tickets and the stadium.
Check Carr's 2004 numbers. "last year", from the standpoint of the 2005 draft, was 2004. In 2004 we weren't bad. in 2005 we sucked nut.
you know what i mean. 2005 season is linked to the 2006 draft. when the decision was being made "last season" was 2004. "this season" was 2005.
LOL!!! Al Michaels just made a shot at the Texans for not drafting Reggie Bush! (sunday night ftball)
Lol... I was just about to post the same thing. Yah he said that every NFL fan must love watching Reggie Bush play except for Texans' fans. That just make me feel sick to my stomach watching VY earlier in the day.
No. The Draft was in the spring/summer. WAYYY after the season was over. Why would they look 2 years in the past? Our 2005 record was 2-14. That is what they were looking at. Don't you remember the "Reggie Bush Bowl?" Carr's contract was decided on AFTER the conclusion of that season.
Oh great, they're making fun of us on NBC right now for passing on Bush. Big surprise. So, if we were a laughingstock last year for being 2-14, what does that make us now? Is there anything lower than laughingstock status? Perhaps ludicrous? Shameful? r****ded?
