How long did you know your wife before you married her?

Would things be different if they were winning?

    nice post...

Until texans can prove that they actually care how houston fans feel about the team, i will have no love for the organization. Texans soley picked houston to be the hometown cause of $. VY wanted to play in Houston cause it's his hometown playing for his fans and family. I was so thrilled to see VY going for the game winning TD!

The only way to end this is for Bob McNair to come out out on national TV and admit he is a wealthy idiot. Or at least that he was wrong :D

We can't forgive until he admits his mistake.

Whatever...every QB does it but I don't think I've ever seen it lead to a 40 yard TD run to win the game. It was the best pump fake I've seen in a football game, that's truth in my standpoint, why is it such a big deal to you?

Uh yeah. If that was the criteria, there would be no Houston fans period.

With the exception of those 2 Rockets championships, Houston fans have had more losing teams and heartbreaking close calls than any fan in any city.

Let's replay that Mike Renfro catch or that Vern Ruhle double play or the Kevin Bass strikeout.

Vince Young could have been this generation's Earl Campbell.

BQ would have put himself in at linebacker and knocked the crap out of Young in overtime. But then again...there never would have been an overtime because Quinn would have thrown for about nine touchdown passes in the first four quarters.

Exactly. Like you said, Kubiak might have wanted Carr too, but we now know that McNair was deadset on keeping Carr no matter what.
And that's what kills me. He ignored everything that VY would have added to this franchise because Carr was his guy.

If that's the case, Houstonians can only support a team that has won before.

I love VY... I hope he does well... things would have been special if he was on the Texans. But, if I'm going to root for the Texans if/when they start playing consistently well (which we all will)... it'll be a lot more fun if I didn't abandon/forget/not care about them when they're awful.

Well, just as we thought Vince Young went into Reliant Stadium and raped the Texans. He just makes the plays and wins the game. Whereas all Carr can do is just dink a little 3 yd dumpoff. He is pathetic. Vince is by far the better player and he is not even finished his rookie yr, and Carr is in his 5th yr. unfortunately Carr didn't make enough mistakes to expedite his removal.

We will never have Vince, and there wil never be another Vince, but we have to move on and find a new QB, and considering where we will draft, that guy who won the Heisman last night is my choice. 6'1'' or not Troy Smith has some of the same qualities as VY, and I think he be a very good NFL QB.

Troy Smith = Poor Man's Vince Young.

    We are poor.

    Troy Smith > David Carr

Casserly had little to do with the pick. Kubiak and McNair were to blame for keeping David Carr, that was the only reason he hired Kubiak to begin with was to try and fix Carr. I blame McNair mostly, he is the owner, he should have said we are gonna draft Vince. Period. I am the boss. Look at the Titans, Jeff Fisher and Norm Chow didn't want Vince, they wanted to draft Leinart. But Bud Adams made the choice to draft Vince. I blame McNair.
