Just trying to steer the conversation back to the game, instead of, you know, towards UT football, which this has nothing to do with.
what about my signature!!!! VINCE YOUNG bends bob mcnair over today!!BWHAHAHAHAHHA i couldnt be happier, actually i could if vince was a texan...
That is what the Texans fans are saying towards VY fans. And just look at the last post. One can say it is Adams' fault, Lanier's fault or both. Personally, I despise Butt Adams. But it wasn't Fisher's fault or the old Houston Oiler players fault they had to move to Tenn. And it sure as hell wasn't Vince Young's fault. He would be Houston's future had Butt Adams not moved the team, or had the new team had their wits about them. Plenty of blame to go around. But the Titans are a heck of lot more than Butt Adams, there are rotten apples on every team, the Titans just have 1 worse one among some super likable, competitive and classy leaders. I would be sick as a dog and not know what to do with my pro footbal enery if I still lived in Houston. I feel for you guys caught in this conflict of an inept home organization who blew the most special prospect in maybe decades, a home grown kid no less. It is a horror movie, and what is worse is there are going to be sequals as long as the eye can see. I don't know of any other sports situation quite like it. I guess we all have to just remember this is sports and not life and death. The guy wishing a Theisman should remember that.
i have no idea if i'm a titans fan. or a texans fan. seriously, i have no idea. i can tell you i'm absolutely more interested in seeing VY's career than the Texans development at this point. i owned season tickets to the Texans the first 3 years of their existence. i'm a blind ridiculous homer for the teams that have been here since before i was born; the astros and rockets. i didn't grow up rooting for battle red and steel blue. so if everyone could chill with the sanctimonious deep, undying loyalty arguments for the 5 year old franchise, that would be super. thanks in advance.
I'm not justifying anything. I came into this thread late and since I'm stuck watching the crappy Vikings playing the crappier Lions I didn't even know the Titans beat the Texans until about half an hour ago so I haven't been following this thread. What I am saying is that it looks like Texans fans aren't showing much class. That doesn't excuse Vince Young fans but If you're arguing that Vince Young fans are classless you might want to look at the Texan fans arguing against them too.
How about a Texans fan who wants the Front Office to know that they can't just make boneheaded decision after boneheaded decision and get away with it. We were clamoring for Vince as soon as he declared. Everyone (including the Texans) told us we were stupid and that Vince wouldn't succeed in the pros. Now, he's already 6-4 (remember, Carr went 4-12 as a rookie). He's taken a team predicted to finish at the bottom of the division to the edge of the PLAYOFF picture.
Indeed. A lot of people were probably fence sitting on this game, waiting to see which temporary bandwagon they could jump on to ride the gravy train til the biscuit wheels come off. VY made an amazing play now all the trolls are out in force, thumping their chests and making fun of all the people who were cheering for Houston to win.
Very funny. Kind of proves my point. But hey, I can take a joke. Pretty easy to spot where some fans really haven't been joking, and are being down-right mean spirited though
Well I like to think I'm quite a character on the BBS. If you check my player sheet you will see that Sishir Chang is a level 12 ranger with 18 dexterity and 16 strength.
Heh, I've pointed that out so many times and gotten a bunch of "YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME" replies. Let me put it this way: people are claiming to be "lifelong Oiler fans" and cheering for the Titans because the Texans didn't do anything to "earn their loyalty." Last time I checked, the Titans did more to lose loyalty from their fans by, I dunno, leaving their home city? But all is forgiven because the Titans drafted someone from their favorite university and anybody who disagrees is a dirty A**ie like Kubiak
Exactly. This is what it boils down to. The NFL isn't about "your team" anymore. There's no loyalty to the city. Why should the city be blindly loyal to the team? I've given the Texans a chance and hope they can become a real NFL team someday. However, when a team has a chance to draft someone that will MAKE the team mean something to the vast majority of Texans fans who aren't diehard, they have to take it. It's like they went out of their way to prove that they were smarter than the fans who wanted VY and it's blowing up right in their faces. Anyone who spent any time watching Vince in any level of football knows that THAT is who you take if you have the choice. Period.
Congratulations, you just posted your way out of any chance in HELL of getting on my xbox live friends list! If I had a myspace page I would delete you too.
You're right. This has nothing to do w/ UT football. That's why all of us love Vince -= because of Bud Adams Most people here never gave a damn about the Titans before Vince went there. In fact I was as happy as anyone when they got stopped on the 1 yard line and lost the super bowl. Sorry if my orangeblood is thicker than my loyalty to David Mr.-"Fresno State-done-nothing-for-the-city of Houston" Carr
I was hoping for young to do really well, but i was hoping for one of thier recivers or rbs to make some turn overs or for the defense to give up big plays so in the end the texans would win and young would still have a good game
The problem is that we Texans fans congregate in these threads each week to talk about our team and I've never seen you in these threads until today. You're trolling a thread meant for fans of the Texans, you're getting treated that way, and now you're whining about it. What is it you hope to accomplish other than to create hard feelings here?
Not all of the Vince fans are gloating. I liked the game, I thought Mario looked pretty good, and I think Carr did OK....I don't know why they went away from Dayne, he was really turning the game around. DD
