HEY whatever works Nothing like being a good little soldier and never really getting an opportunity to really get a chance to be a starter . . .*cough*sage*cough*rosenfelds*cough* Say what you will . . he was better than Carr , , and never sniffed at the starter job . . . when Schuab came. . . same deal . . him being starter was not even an option . . he goes to Minne to try . .and boom there is Farve . . .never a shot there. . . . . If VY gotta do some movements to get a shot at the starter spot rather than just being a good soldier holding the clipboard. . . I say . . do what ya gotta do . . Rocket River
I can see him going to the one place that is always okay with QB's who decide to rely on talent instead of studying the game...Oakland. I'm glad the Titans are cutting ties with Vince. It has nothing to do with disliking VY and everything to do with stories of his refusal to study and his outbursts. I hope that now he has been humbled he'll pull a Vick, study the game and show everyone what he is capable of.
If people dont think Fisher is getting the boot to, their are nuts, the guy is the most overrated coach of all time
Not to go too far off-topic, but Sage just doesn't have the brains to be a starter. He was good coming off the bench in a pinch and gunslinging. But when he was the starter for 2-3 weeks in-a-row, he would throw too many interceptions and make dumb decisions on the field. I felt this way about him long before the "Rosencopter" nightmare. Yes he was better than David Carr, which is saying nothing at all. But he was definitely below Schaub, without a doubt. Sage's place in the NFL is as a backup.
You learn more from failure than success. Vince could be another Jim Plunkett if he gets his head together and learns the right lessons from this episode.
lol. I figured this was going to happen. I kind of sad it's come to light though. I was enjoying all the drama in titland.
^^ Wow, from that pic, it looks like even all the people living in all the world's oceans don't want VY.
This is one of the most pathetic things I've ever read. I'm a Lions and texans fan. I watched Barry Sanders leave us, one of the worst runs of starting QBs you've ever seen, and Matt Millen destroy our franchise. I never once stopped being a Lions fan let alone post some emo garbage like this. It's no secret what we are going through as Texans fans so I'll spare you the breakdown on that. Did you cut yourself when making this post? I actually do feel bad for Vince now. He's going to need a restarining order because it would appear you will be sleeping in his bushes. It is laughable to see a ****ty troll meltdown like this on the internet though
i loved VY at UT. i wanted the texans to draft him.... but he acted like a punk down the stretch. when you don't show respect for your coach, you're gonna get axed. that's football..that's life. you shouldn't be surprised. the guy was one mess up after another. i'm more concerned about him getting his LIFE together than i am how he'll do as an NFL QB.
I agree that it's not a huge surprise and it's probably time for the two sides to part ways. But I don't think Vince has as many problems as other people do. Really, he's an emotional guy prone to emotional outbursts out of frustration. But for all that, he never publicly threw a tantrum or criticized the team or coach. He never quit on the team. He never said a bad word about anyone or anything. The only things we ever heard about any of his incidents were from the mouth of Jeff Fisher - never from the owner, GM, other players, etc. We really only have one guy's perspective on Vince, and it's a guy we know really dislikes him at this point (that may be fair or unfair, we don't know). As far as his future goes, I think that's a lot tougher. Whether deserved or not, he has a reputation of a malcontent. And he's a guy that you really have to build an offense around, which any coach is going to be hesitant to do at this point. He could easily get a job as a backup somewhere, but if he takes over for an injured player, I'm not sure he'd be successful because the offense wouldn't be designed for him. And if he fails somewhere else, he's probably done. I think his best two possibilities would be backing up Vick in Philly if they trade Kolb, and Minnesota if either is interested. In Philly, he'd get to learn from a QB that sort of had similar issues of "getting it" as far as how the passing & running go together, and Vick is likely to get injured here and there to give Vince a chance. And Reid is an offensive genius that will put QBs in the best position to succeed. For Minnesota, Joe Webb seems to be their QB of the future, but if they don't think he's ready, Vince plays a similar style and could start for a year or two. That gives him a chance to rehab himself, and he's young enough that if he turns out great, Minnesota could keep him.
