If Manfred would schedule us against division leaders and close to for a season, we would win 110 games. If we continuously played the likes of KC, and the Colorado's of this world we would win 60.
You also forgot the most important part of those trades blowing up. You had a manager who was fiercely loyal to the two people that were about to be replaced (Maldy and Yuri) and he refused to play the new players over them, which made the trades worthless.
Rangers started the season 5-0 in 1-runners Since then…. 1-5 and below 500 overall eta: my bad, Rangers 15-14 overall
Sometimes it doesn't though. There's a lot of teams that had fluke one run game luck all season. The rangers did it. The Giants from a few years ago
Would be interesting if true, but like everything involving Dusty, facts gets thrown by the wayside to support whatever narrative people want to create. In Aug/Sep, Maldy and Vasquez had a 50/50 split in at-bats. Yuli/Mancini had about a 55/45 split in at-bats. Everyone got plenty of playing time. Dusty went with his people in the post-season, though, and it absolutely was the right decision and led to a World Series.
Guys like Chas had career years under Dusty. And the pitching was related to Martin Maldonado at catcher. We wouldn't be as good without Dusty using him behind the plate.
Very interesting. Doesn’t make much sense on the surface, but Blubaugh is ready. Really hoping this isn’t because of a surprise injury.
It makes perfect sense because Wesneski's velocity was way down in his last start, the team has publicly stated they want to manage his innings in his first season as a regular starter, and his scheduled start tomorrow is officially TBD.
Blubaugh is listed as Sugar Land’s SP tonight. They are playing at home so Blubaugh might just be visiting.
