He also said that Verlander is what happened. Really?

A win today and it's a GOOD series.

Sanchez vs Fiers is an even enough matchup.

If we use Rockets GM/Owner logic at this point, Hinch would be fired right about now. lol

Except 11 NBA games is equivalent to about 22 MLB games. Hinch has 10 games to turn it around ;)

I notice Texas' game with Baltimore tonight is off. Are we likely to have postponements next week? I'm in the UK so only going by weather reports, but it doesn't look promising

Whoa, that's a Sunday lineup if I've ever seen one.

    The "we-don't-plan-on-scoring-many-runs" lineup. :p
So they'll probably score a few runs today. ; )

But it's not like the starters were lighting up the scoreboard either.

    5-6-5(5.3 avg) vs NYY
    4-6-2(4 avg) vs MIL
    8-2-2-2(3.5 avg) vs KC
    1-3(2 avg) vs DET

Would be great for the franchise and city!

If the Astros' best player stopped playing for Hinch, he'd be fired too.

Did you guys see the stats on winning percentage for series wins since August? The Astros had the worst (or maybe second worst) record in the league in terms of series wins since that time.

I'm concerned we're seeing something bigger here than just a poor start.

Gomez and Gattis are huge disappointments. Thank god neither is in the lineup today. Let's hope Marisnick gets going.

Astros played .500 baseball most of last year and tailed off that final month or so to lose out on the division title. The early season 10 game winning streak really carried them. Similar to the Texans 12-4 season that saw them fall off in the final month plus playoffs and carry over to the next season, we may be seeing signs of this with the Astros.

You could be right. A lot of the optimistic projections for this team are based on one game vs the NYY (2015 wildcard) and one close series vs the to be world champions (Royals).

Thats a lot of stock to put into 6 games.

Someone else said it first, but we are <.500 since last May. Add to this we are arguably in the worst performing division in baseball.

I dont mean to take anything away from some very promising individual talent that resides on this team. But as a team, we have some under-performing players dragging down our potential. Arguments like "We aren't expecting much from so-and-so so it ok they are below the Mendoza line" dont fly with me.

Look again, there's a Gattis sighting.

Facing a RH pitcher, good thing we're using a struggling RH bat (when a perfectly good LH is available)... smh

I'm concerned, too, but this Astros team has depth that neither the recent Texans or Rockets squads have had. I'm sure we all remember the Rangers started slowly last year and were counted out early. I went back and checked and the Rangers started 12-18, 17-23 and were even 49-52 at one point. I prefer our depth across the board to that Rangers team, and while I'm semi-panicking as well, we have to trust the process. This team will be in the hunt, but it won't necessarily be with the current roster.
