Good job we got Lee out of the game there. Now we can have Kata leading off the inning instead of one of our best offensive options. Well done Coop!
WOW...wtf happened? I switched to see it 3-2 Stros..... The switch back to watch Brazil take the Confederations cup...now back to this to see we blew our lead. Ugh.
2 outs, no men on and a 1-2 count to Thames and Valverde throws 3 straight balls. Inge crushed one in the next AB. Coop let Ortiz hit with 2 outs and a man on 3rd in the 7th when we had a chance to go up 2 with a base hit then pulled Ortiz after facing only Adam Everett. He also pulled Carlos again forcing us to lead off the 9th with Matt Kata.
Wow....seriously, does Coop even THINK about his moves anymore? That sounds like one hell of a train wreck of decisions.
Horrible at bat from Hunter. Took an "old Hunter" swing at a breaking ball away which would have got him to 2-0
Surely just the fact that Lee was due to lead off the next inning should there be one should be enough to keep him in the game???
if drayton had any inkling of an understanding of baseball, i wonder how long ago he would have fired our brainless manager?
That's at least 3 very questionable decisions by Coop today: 1. Letting Ortiz hit in the 7th. 2. Pulling Carlos (even though this is the norm with a late lead). 3. Using Kata to lead off the 9th over Tejada or Erstad.
The Stros still haven't caught up to the Reds in the standings despite the Reds being without Votto and Volquez for huge stretches and Taveras struggling royally as their leadoff hitter. That's the equivalent of us being without Berkman (or whoever our best hitter is this season) and Oswalt (or our best pitcher) for several weeks and Bourn having a season like last year.
The entire NL save the Dodgers suck. Look at the standings, really, besides LA and Washington, and maybe the dbacks, the NL is grouped together closely.
