Well, I am not sure where wnes got this picture.

If it is from photo gallery of this current World Championship in Brazil, then this #11 is not Ye Li.

Ye Li has been dropped from the national team due to her injury, and her #11 jersey has been taken by another player, Song Liwei.

Beside, even if this photo is not from the current World Championship, I don't think this player is Ye Li, as I don't think Ye Li is that bulky on her arm, and there is not the red bracelet on her right hand.

The red string is not visible maybe because the right wrist is behind the left one, as shown in the picture. But I too was wondering about the physique of No. 11. It doesn't look quite like Ye Li, who is supposed to be slimmer.

I found the photo on a Lauren Jackson fansite. It says the picture was taken during the Opal (the nick for Aussie women's basketball team) World Challenge tourney in April 2006.

Then I don't think she is Ye Li. IIRC, Ye Li had not been practicing with the national team throughout this summer, and was not playing in that World Challenge tourney.

I bet if Yao Ming and Ye Li breaks up, Lauren Jackson will be all over Yao.

Maybe Yao should have babies with both of them. :)

Actually it is very popular in China right now. Many rich and powerful people have two or more "wives". One official one and one or more concubines hiding some where else. Yao just doesn't look like the type though. ;)

I'm sure many rich people of all cultures keep mistresses and wives at the same time. It isn't exclusive to China.

Back in the olden days, they would have 3-6, sometimes even more living under the same roof.

I hope the moderator or the system administrator is reading this.

Can someone explain to me WHY one star has been dropped for this thread ? It had been a 5-star all along.....and suddenly, it became only 4.

Are you people complaining that I ain't providing Yao Ming's updates here fast enough ?? :D

Don't fret. I think it's just because some of our gay posters didn't like the naked pictures of Lauren Jackson. Maybe if you put up some... nah forget it. Just live with it. Noone can please all the people all of the time.

Well I drop my complaint, as obviously the moderator had seen my post, and 5-stars had been restored to this thread. :D

At least, I know the systems moderating here on the forum is far far far superior than the YMM site that I most frequented.

What do you mean polygamy is "popular in China right now"? The way you wrote in your response to shaggylamb's post makes it sound like polygamy is widely practiced in China and also protected by marriage law. This is utter nonsense. Men having mistress(es) are not necessarily penalized legally, unless their wives find out and decide to take them to courts. It's true affairs and infidelity are on the rise in China, but they are NOT the same as polygamy. Further, the phenomenon is hardly unique to one particular country or culture, isn't it?

If I were you, the last thing I would do is to perpetuate more myth about China on this BBS, even if it meant to be light-hearted and "harmless."

I don't want to derail pryuen's thread. Carry on.

Actually the thread rating is based on votes by everyone. There's a option at the top of the thread that lets people vote for how they want to rate the thread. As for it changing to 4 stars, that's because right now it's at 44 votes for a 4.55 star average (a very good rating for so many votes), and earlier it was less than 4.5 stars so it rounded down.

I won't be surprised if Yao Ming cheats on Ye Li. I mean just look at her, he can do WAY better than that!!!

Yi Le isn't playing for the women's China National Team. She retired.

She is in Houston attending college at UH. A friend of mine has her in one of her classes.

ROFLMAO !!! Maybe it is really Yi Le that was in University of Houston that the friend of MandM's friend has in her class......

As far as I know, Ye Li only spent short vacations in Houston accompanying Yao Ming, but spent alot of times in Shanghai on her rehabilitation, and trying to get back onto the national team.
