I don't know. He is still wearing the bracelet. Maybe they have an understanding. He can party sometimes on his own.

May be, may be not. We Chinese often poke fun at ShangHai gentlemen calling them obedient husbands. I doubt Yao at home is as dominant as he is in the court. :D

Moreover, we have 2 birthdays a year, one on Chinese Lunar calendar day and the other on Gregorian Solar calendar day. My parents used to celebrate my lunar birthdays (which were normally earlier) instead of solar birthday. I am not born in Mainland China though, not sure if they follow this custom or not. His family may have celebrated his birthday a couple days ago.

[Edit:] Oh my bad, if Yao was truly borned on Sep 12, 1980, his Lunar brithday this year will be Sep 25, this is rare but since there are 2 "July" in this Chinese Lunar year, Yao's Lunar birthday is later than his solar birthday.

No, she is in Shanghai, and not with the national team in Brazil.

Ye Li has been dropped from the national team as she has yet to be fully rehabilitated from her leg (knee ?) injury. Actually her days as a basketball player is numbered due to her recurring injury.

Well, freemaniam, the lunar calendar is ALWAYS later than the Gregorian solar calendar.

    Are you sure Pryuen?

If I am right on Yao's DOB, his lunar birthday will be 4th day of the 8th month every Chinese Lunar year (apparently I cannot use Aug 4 here). Take year 2005 as an example, Yao's lunar birthday was Sep 7 (earlier than Sep 12).

Well, nowadays for most Chinese, they observe Gregorian calendar days as their birthdays; very seldom they celebrate their birthdays according to the lunar calendar. I have not heard that Yao Ming has this habit of celebrating his birthdays according to lunar calendar. Like what I posted above, in the past 6 years, he celebrated his bithday on September 12 on the Gregorian calendar, and not according to the lunar calendar.

    Saw these photos on bbs.chinahoop.com.

A Yao Ming fan took these photos on September 12 afternoon, i.e. Yao Ming's birthday.

It seemed Gatorade is trying to clone a Chinese version of Can Jimmy Play ? commercial.

So Yao Ming keeps working even on his birthday.

Guess you are right. Too bad the Chinese in Mainland China gave up this custom. I even wonder if most of them ever know their lunar DOB. What funny though, is that I looked more like a 54-year-old man than you do in this discussion. No way a 54-year-old Chinese will mess up with the chronological order of their lunar birthdays and solar birthdays. :D

I am off-topic here, sorry for that. Thanks for the updates and photos. Please keep on your good works.

I don't believe for a second that Yao will marry anyone else but Ye, if he did he wouldn't be Yao. I think Ye's career as a baby Yao maker will start within the next two years, Yao did say he want to field a whole basketball team with his kids. :D

He denied it, and said he did not know how the media could mock up such rumour; he and Ye Li have yet to plan for it.

Yao's importance to the Rockets? Let's say that Yao will not be traded for anybody in the league for the next 8 years.

8 years might be too long, but the next 5 years is another story.
