Am I the only one that doesn't like this KillBill nickname? Yeah I know that Vassilis is greek for William or Bill but he's going as Vassilis, not William or Bill. I personally like Vassilis as a better name than the one of the most common names, William/Bill.

I also disagree with giving a player a nickname before he even steps on the court. Nicknames have to be earned, not given. Look at Malik Badine, Clutchfans are responsible for killing his career when he was given the name, "Bad Man". :D

Those pic on court of Yao are great! He looks like he is in great shape. Looks even more muscular and leaner.

When I saw the photos of his first workouts in China a month or so ago, he was so soft looking. You can tell that he has really went to work.

I hope his foot is good to go because the rest of him looks ready.

Looks like he's putting all his weight on his left foot without any thought, effort, or pain. Good signs. Who is Stankovic? And why is this Cup named after him to be played in China?

Stankovic was launched by Wanqi Cheng(China),who is the chairman of FIBA.Include the champion of five Continents and some better international teams. It`s denominated in Stankovic who was the chairman of FIBA.It will be held in China forever, but it`s no certain which city will hold it .For the sake of playing with all the best teams every year and improving strength of Chinese team.
Do you understand? a little poor English, forgive me.

Any link to prove this ?

I don't think that is true even thought the inaugurial torunament was held in Beijing last year, and this year, in Nanjing.

    I know that.

But I don't think you have proved anything by your link of a Chinese BBS forum about your statement that this tournament will be held forever in China.

The purpose of Stankovic is to improve Chinese team,Do you Think if it Will be held in other country? Maybe the more influence it makes, the more countries will want to hold it in recent years.

How about "Jelly", which comes from petrolium jelly, which is vaseline, which sounds like Vassilis? Steve Jones can be like "What a drive to the basket! Vassilis for 2, and the Rockets pull ahead by 1." Then Bill Walton can be like "Throw it down little fella, throw it down! Jelly has made a significant contribution to this revitalized Houston Rockets team. He is, by FAR the best player that has come from Greece."

I would then put the game on mute and tune in to Rockets internet radio for the game.

Clutchfans here didn't give him the nickname "Kill Bill". His Greek fans did. He sure has a successful career and earned that from his fans there.
