Yao Ming at the scrimmage of the national team. It was reported that he was in great competitive shape and form, dunking and blocking a couple times.

I guess it is ONLY you that is worrying. That is his right foot, and not the left foot that was operated on.

He is in fine competitive form and shape as reported on the Chinese websites. The doctor said he won't be ready in another 7 days. CBA wants him to play tonight, and the decision now rests on the Houston Rockets management whether they will let him play.

Yao should not play this game. :(
And also I believe there will be no benefit to 'warm up' from this 'game' for both US team and China team. :p

Pryuen, why does the CNT never update Yao's height or weight?

The Rockets have said repeatededly, and it has also been reported by many Chinese reporters, that Yao grew to 7-5 3/4 barefoot or 2.28 m barefoot.

YET the CNT STILL lists him at 2.26 m barefoot (his height from 1999) even though in 2000 at age 19 he was measured at 2.27 m barefoot or 7-5 1/2 and the same in 2002 by NBA before being drafted (although the Chronicle said they typoed it as 7-5)

    etc.....

but CNT still lists him at 2.26 m (7-5)

also CNT still lists him at 275 pounds (125 kg)..........

Yao hasn't been 275 pounds (125 kg) since about 2001 season in CBA.

It's well known Yao is now about 308-312 pounds (140 kg - 141.8 kg) variably or around 310 pounds (140.9 kg).

The Rockets, as well as the official NBA listings, have Yao at 7'6" (2.29m -a rounded up height as Yao chooses barefoot rather than shoe listing) 310 pounds (140.9 kg).

So is the CNT like nba.com and just never ever bother to update anything (like most NBA players files are never upated even 10 year pros for weight) or do they actually dispute the other claims that Yao is 7-5 3/4 2.28m and around 310 140.9 kg?

Just wondering because even international listing for Yao claims 2.28m 141 kg

I fully support Yao to play world tounament if he is rehabing well. But I don't think he needs to play this game, he may need a little more time to recover to competitive form.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't give a d@mn on exactly how tall he is. 1/2 inch difference won't matter. He is STILL the tallest, most famous and popular NBA player in the world.

As for his weight, the latest from what I read from the Chinese website (i.e. day before yesterday), he is working extremely hard these days to be trimmed down back to his optimal weight (according to Anthony Falsone), i.e. 140 KG (i.e. 308 lbs) at 6 ~ 7 % fat contents.

Pryuen I don't care if you are concerned

I am asking if the CNT never updates and is just lazy like nba.com or do they actually dispute the height/weight?

You yourself just said the weight is glaringly wrong.

I was just wondering but since you don't give a damn I no longer give a damn about your updates.

Well, there is ALWAYS this dispute of height, with shoes or without shoes. My point is WHO CARES ?? Give Yao Ming another inch or 2 may jeopardize his nimbleness. Take 1 inch away from him won't make him less workaholic and dominant. He will STILL be the most down-to-earth, humble, popular and famous NBA player with great personality and professionalism that I adore.

Whether you give a damn or not to my regular updates about Yao Ming, I don't give a damn neither.

Whenever I saw Yao next to Shawn Bradley (who's listed as 7'6), he always seemed slightly shorter.

He looks to me more 7'5 than 7'6. But I agree, it doesn't really matter that much.

No one cares about you either, because you're a troll. 500+ posts and still a rookie, that's all I need to know. The rest of us, the non-trolls, appreciate the work pryuen puts in to give updates about Yao.

LOL ... pryuen, unless you are closely related to CNT, you need not take the questioning of their deficiency from an innocent Clutch fan as a gesture of dismissal of your wonderful job on reporting Yao's summer activities.
