The only problem with football....NOW I HAVE TO WAIT A FREAKIN WEEK!!! I cant wait to see how they progress against the Rams.
This team, I think, will surprise many. Kubiak could be a Coach of The Year candidate. We really made the right choice.
that video is amazing. that's a corner who can't catch him there around the end. he blows right past him. pretty amazing.
NFL network is about to replay the Texans game @10:00, and @1:00 they will show the New Orleans/Titans game.
I like the optimism, but you can't make a decision on what you saw in one preseason game. In that case, you can assume that Mario Williams will be a bust (that's probably a good prediction) and Reggie Bush is gonna be a pro-bowler.
Lundy 9 rushes, 59 yards, 1 TD 1 rec, 9 yards Bush 6 rushes, 59 yards, 0 TD 2 rec, 10 yards The Saints used their 1st round pick on Bush, we used our 6th round pick on Lundy. The Saints are so stupid.
I'm not making this prediction on just one pre-season game. I'm making this prediction on reports that I've read, things I've seen written on Kubiak, quotes from players talking about Kubiak, a speech I heard Kubiak give (as trivial as that is), AND some progression I saw through one pre-season game. With that said, this team should win 7 to 9 games this year. I honestly believe that. Besides, if I were basing it all on one pre-season game, I would have said that Wali Lundy was going to get the Offensive Rookie of The Year. P.S. I didn't see the game, but like others have said, eleven plays, while being double teamed does not equate to failure. If you're a rookie, playing in your first PRE-SEASON game, and a team feels the need to double-team you on every play, you've already had a pretty great impact, in my opinion.
I just rewatched the first quarter paying attention to only Mario and the people who were blocking him and he was rarely double teamed. He was a non factor in most plays. Of course this was his first preseason game so lets give him a little time.
Let's take a closer look at what you're bragging about. 1 rush (on a busted play) 44 yards & 0 TD's. The defense plugged the hole, but someone forgot to hold his position & contain the backside of the play. As wide open as that side was, DD could've ripped off most of those yards. Hell, Mathis might've taken it to the house. There's no doubt that Bush is fast, & if you give him an opening, he'll bust it. But, teams will study this game & make sure that the backside defender will hold his position. 5 rushes (on designed plays) 15 yards & 0 TD's. That's 3 yards per carry. Can you say Tony Hollings? Actually, Hollings had better receiving yards. Does that make him better than Bush? Why don't you wait a few games before coming in here & bragging on what he did on ONE busted play.
I didn't want Reggie Bush, but I must admit that he looks like the sh*t on the field!!! That's beautiful.
Short of injuries--Get ready for more highlight reels like that....from designed plays that lead to TDs and such. I really wanted him on the Texans--but it did not happen. I am a Texan's fan--so I will hope they made the right dec. and get great production from no-name backs including DD(who is still trying to make a name and prove his durability). I will also hope M. Williams produces consistently and becomes a factor this yr. So, I will cont. to root for R. Bush and hope that he and the Saints do well--Even though I don't care for the Saints. Few players have had that kind of draw for me.
I do like what Kubiak was doing. Since the first several plays (& many times after that) involved Carr rolling out on naked bootlegs, it appears to me that he's showing the rest of the NFL one of our dimensions that will be used quite often. This will force teams to game plan for Carr's running abilities (& some of you think Carr is worthless? ). Thus, the middle should open up more for our running game, because the defense won't be able to cheat over & clog the middle. Also, our receivers should be able to get open more often, because the safeties will have to wait until Carr commits to the run or pass first. I can't wait until next week's game to see what new wrinkles Kubiak will add.
Here we go again with the ignorant people. "But if you take away Bush's 80 yard runs, he only averages 3.0 yards a carry". Are people really this dumb? How do we continue to see this stupid theory brought up?
#93 Kyle Vanden Bosch didn't contain. He cut to the hole & was unable to reverse his field quickly enough. Had he held his position, Bush would've been tackled for a loss. I bet he'll never make that mistake with Bush again.
This is a Texans thread, not a Bush one. I'm gettin sick of hearing about a guy that is NOT ON THE TEXANS; get over it already. But unfortunately, I believe we're gonna keep hearing about him and VY until the day both retire.
I'm ignorant? At least I didn't feel the need to resort to name calling & personal attacks. Bush did get that run on a busted play & a blown assignment. NFL teams will adjust their defenses to cover the backside. This is the NFL, it's not sandlot football. Bush won't be able to free lance on every play. With all his explosiveness & speed, Bush, apparently, couldn't do anything within the confines of the Saint's designed offensive plays. Bush couldn't run up the middle in college, & he won't be able to run up the middle in the Pros. Get used to it!
The reason LJ exploited a little weakness at linebacker up the middle for the Texans was because Barrett Green and David Anderson started at linebacker for us along with DeMeco Ryans. Kubiak and the staff wanted to give them a chance to play instead of Morlon Greenwood and Shantee Orr. And the linebackers didn't do that bad on stopping Lj considering how he fared against us in the regular season last year. And also I have a question: Did anyone see how Anthony Weaver played or if he even did play at all?
