To be fair, that bet is really gonna be an even proposition. You can argue that Hopkins is the better, or at least more NFL ready WR. OK, I'll agree with you there. If Patterson stepped all over secondary last night, it was because our secondary gave him 5yd cushions all over the place. He won't have that in the regular season. Hopkins on the other hand can jump over anyone and has hands of glue. Nevertheless, that's not the problem when it comes to performance. Both of them will serve as the #2 WR option on their team. Problem is, our #1 option is much better than their #1. Also as I recall, Jennings had some health issues last year. So what you're looking at is playing opportunity, not just ability. In that regard Patterson might win out over Hopkins. Considering total offensive options, again the Texans have a bit more: we both have dominant RB's, and our TE's are traditionally much more involved in the offense than Minnesota's. So there. I'm not saying it's skewed either way, I'm saying it's a tossup. Personally I'm on your side. I think what will tip it over will be a conscious decision on Kubiak's part to make this offense more pass-oriented than in years past. We have more weapons, and people just keyed in way too much on our run last year. It's time to surprise people once again by leaning to the opposite end and airing the ball out, at least until other defenses give us more leeway in the run game again.

I am a huge fan of Case; I want what is best for the Texans as well. I just hope that if he doesn't get promoted here he will get a shot somewhere in the league, because he can play at the NFL level. I would prefer he stay here. As we all know Kubiak is not much for change. If it were me, as much as I appreciate TJ, I think Case is the future. Why can't we keep all three?

For those that are complaining about Joel Meyers, just wait until the Monday night opener against San Diego. I have two words for you: Chris Berman. After 10 minutes listening to that blowhard you will be begging for Meyers to be the announcer.
Is it confirmed that he will be heading the "B" team? Was hoping that ESPN would bring back Mike Patrick (he still does college games for them). Used to love listening to him when ESPN used to have NFL games on sunday night.
Well, I'm sure national ABC will have some questions for the local crew... because of their mistake, they're pre-empting national programming (albeit on a Saturday night) to replay a pre-season Texans game that likely nobody is watching (or at least less people are watching this in Houston vs. the 20/20 special that would have been on). But, I agree... top 10 media markets shouldn't have to have networks that issue on air apologies for faulty equipment used to broadcast the most popular form of entertainment in the world. KTRK has been underprepared for Texans coverage since day 1... and its not getting better.

I asked earlier. Still not totally sure. Someone said because he was touched, but I don't think this is the case. I think in the regular season, that's not a catch. Hopefully Hopkins is made aware of this. The only thing I can think of is because the defender knocked it out of his hand...

Yup. Receiver had control and landed on his back. It was only after he landed that the defender poked the ball from his grasp, but by then it was a TD. Bang-bang play that many refs would get wrong. Nice to see the Texans get the call.
