    He will be in the running.. but tough to get from a position where he really isn't expected to put up any measurable stats.... unless they start counting pass deflections officially.

    He's a 3-4 DE that will get the occasional sack, but mainly is there to occupy space for the OLB.

    Absolutely correct call. It's either a difficult 54 yard kick, or a weak punt that may get touchbacked anyway.

    They hadn't been successful against our run and converting it would've effectively put the game on ice.

    That or would like them to spread it out. Go 3 or 4 WR's in Ace formation or something. They have to respect the wide receivers and maybe the O-line can get more of a push.

    I'd say if the first down is 3 yards or less and you are in the 40, go for it.
