If its 1A, 1B now... then I'm putting Johnson at 1A. I'm convinced that he's the best there is right now. I've watched Andre Johnson play on Sunday for 3-4 years now, but what I saw from Fitzgerald in the 08 playoffs was just ridiculous. Clearly though, what Fitzgerald does on the field is still impressive even with some lesser QBs, and having a Pro Bowl gunslinger like Matt Schaub doesn't hurt Andre's stat line... but I'm just feeling like I'm finally ready to admit that Andre Johnson is the best receiver in the game.
Some concerns there for sure. Though Jacoby Jones with similar issues got the chance to redeem himself and it seems to be paying off, thats how I'm looking at it. Though fumbling a kickoff is 10 times worse than fumbling a punt. A kickoff comes right after a score. Fumbling the kickoff deep in the other team's territory gives them back to back scoring drives. Thats a backbreaker
The dude that offered a "rebuttal" to yours didnt really make a strong point .. EVEN if you include the year he was good .. even the guy says for his career he is like 48 percent .. I dont like those odds at all also the fact that the other team Missed its FG only goes to show you that it was a good decision .. yah he made the first one and it didnt count .. dont you think shanahan would have called a Time out also??? who do you think taught gary that move?

Will watch the game later. But looking at the box score, did our DBs look as bad as the Skins passing stats suggest? Last week I was ready to chalk it up to Peyton being Peyton. But now I'm a bit scared about our secondary. I do wish the Texans pick up a veteran corner via trade. He doesn't even have to be a starter. But at least a veteran presence who may help the kids along. Otherwise, hey, a win's a win. Especially on the road. You take those any way you can get.
Was it just me or did it seem like the announcers were HORRIBLE today .. i felt like at times I was listening to redskins announcers.. they seemed to be favoring them heavily today. They kept talking over and over about how texans gave up so many yards the week b4 without a single mention of the fact that most of them came as a part of their design .. also there were several calls where they wanted to favor the redskins ( a call on special teams where they said houston will be heavily penalized and it turned out to be against redskins; the texan player who did not go out of bounds at the end of regulation but they initially said wait it looked like he went out of bounds; redskins player whose knee his the ground and they kept arguing that he went out of bounds and it cost them the series) no to mention the fact that I didnt really hear them say much about schaub even though he ended up having a better game than mcnabb.. by the sound of it, one would have though that mcnabb had a better game when schaub had nearly the same completion rate.. more TDs and more yards
Yes they did. Kareem Jackson looked really bad out there. But the Texans got no pressure on McNabb in the first half, so our DL has to do a better job of putting pressure on the QB to help their young DBs.
He played better in the second half. He's gonna go through some growing pains. We just have to overcome them.

I love how everyone is hating on Kubiak. At the time of the decision, it didn't seem great, but I supported it. Looking back on it now, it was a great call. Had we lost, we'd be talking about that call the whole season. And I disagree with Icehouse, completely. That call alone, showed Kubiak has balls. He trusted in his defense, which had been getting torched in the passing game all day, to make a stand to give his team the opportunity to win the game. Like others have said, that goes a long way in the confidence department. As far as the passing defense goes, getting Cushing back will help a lot. Kareem is going to go through the learning process. For us to be 2 - 0 right now, I'm really happy. Yes, our passing defense looks like it stinks, but you have to realize, the two quarterbacks we've faced are top-tier guys that have thrown the ball an average of 48 times a game. First of all, that says a lot about our run defense. It's been amazing. Second of all, this won't happen every week. And even if it does, some of these guys are going to make mistakes. I feel like once we start intercepting a few balls, teams will throw less. When that happens, this team is going to be TOUGH to beat.
I'm really just surprised that the skins receivers were going down the field with us. Seems kind of scary considering they normally never do jack squat. Even last week. Hopefully it's more just about Shannahan knowing our players, McNabb being awesome, than actually our defense sucking. We'll see next week. Number of pass attempts don't really matter when the YPA is so high. If you can get 10+ yards per pass attempt, you pretty much have no need to run the football. At all.
I could have done my math wrong, but according to what I calculated, we're giving up 9.04 yards per passing attempt. That's pretty bad, BUT Schaub himself is getting 8.75 yards per passing attempt. That number that we're giving up is sure to come down - once we face lesser qb's (I even venture to say after we face the Cowboys), and especially once we get Cushing back. I know this isn't the point though, and our secondary has looked shaky. I just think it's going to get better. Remember, we're 2-0!!
That is a HUGE positive to take away from this game (besides the W, obviously). We've trounced the Colts and come back on the road against a tough 'Skins team all without Cush. There's actually a strong possibility we could end up 4-0 without him (I know, I know: "Don't count your chickens...").
