The Washington paper is also eyeing the NFL's leading rusher... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/09/17/AR2010091704135.html
And I will be there "rooting" right at your side. If they can keep this up, we can have our very own version of the Hogettes!
Are you trying to compare the Colts offense to the futile Redskins one? Puh-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
I'm just hoping for something other than the team coming out flat. If we came out with some nastiness, I would be totally stoked. I wanna see Pollard come out and knock the piss out of someone. If we win big, and Foster has another big day, the fan base will be going crazy, and national media will be all up in our junk, I think.
I expect to shift back to the passing game, Johnson slants, Daniels in seams. The run game was super but that's probably what the Redskins gameplan is designed to stop. They will probably be crowding the box. Call a run, see if they are up, if they are check off to something behind the LB's. I would give Leach a chance to catch one too as a reward, Maybe on 2nd. and goal.
Players gripe about their contracts all the time. But after Sunday, it's hard to imagine anyone has a better case than Texans running back Arian Foster, who has rushed for 350 yards and five touchdowns in his first two NFL starts. Foster is scheduled to make $310,000 this season and $395,000 next season in what might be the best value contract in all of sports. Foster's fine fullback, Vonta Leach, earns considerably more. He signed a four-year, $8 million contract in 2007. Should Foster rush for 102 yards against Washington on Sunday, he would break Jonathan Stewart's record for most rushing yards in a player's first three NFL starts since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. It's often pointed out when top draft picks are overpaid; every now and then, there is an undrafted free agent who is underpaid. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=schefter_adam&page=10spot/10week02
I love Foster, but let's wait and see. I would hate for it to become a hot issue during the season with us trying to do big things. Plus RBs probably have the shortest shelf life of all the positions. I he keeps it up for a few more games, then let his agent talk with Bob McNair.
Foster would be nuts to mention a new contract during his breakthrough season. If he continues to perform, he'll be taken care of this Summer. His agent knows that.
He's still under contact for one more season so I don't see the Texans shelling out money for Foster this offseason. Slaton had one great season and I'm glad the Texans never gave him a big contact.
