Nice video breakdown of the Texans win over the Colts. From NFL Playbook http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-playbook/09000d5d81a8a3be/Playbook-How-Foster-had-record-day
LOL. They decide to feature a picture of the Texans in the headline of their power rankings, and choose one of Matt freaking Leinart.
That is beautiful to watch. Just textbook blocking and great cuts by Foster. Walter really showed how great of a blocker he is too.
Foster will have a huge bulls-eye on him, expect an air show. I hope for a Manning-esque play style from Schaub, don't try too many bombs, just cool 10 yard gains. Look for about 50/50 run/pass plays.
Except Mcintosh and Fletcher, the WAS LBs helped to surrender 4+ ypc to Dallas' 3-headed beastlings. If Vonta keeps up his monolithic blocking, it should be a good day for Foster. But I want AJ to lead the league in yards again, for the first ever 3-peat. I'm 100% in support of an all out air attack, but my gosh give less targets to Jacoby.
That wouldn't be typically described as an "air show". That would typically be described as a balanced offense...which is the Texans ultimate goal.
In my opinion, I would try hard to see if last week's epic run game can be counted on regularly. My biggest concern going into this game is how well Kyle Shannahan prepared the Redskins' D on Schaub's tendencies. Schaub can do great things for us, but he definitely has a bad habit of underthrowing the deep ball and forcing the receiver to stop and come back for it. This was an issue on Sunday, and Schaub had a rough outing (67 rating, one of the worst in week 1). I don't want to go away from our strengths, but I also don't want to let Kyle's inside knowledge of our passing game be exploited. Let the passing game feed off the run game if at all possible. Set up the play action. Find out if Fat Albert is going to be half hearted on the line. The defensive line won't have as easy a going as they did Sunday, but Washington isn't going to be a major challenge for them. Trent Williams looked good in his debut, but Mario should be able to school a rookie. McNabb is looking better than he did last year, but he still struggles when pressured. He's not completing 70% of his passes like Peyton did if we can apply similar pressure. He does love the deep ball, so clamping down on Moss is going to be critical. The Colts didn't even attempt to run the ball, but this week we'll see plenty of Portis. Not having Cushing will probably be a bigger deal than not having Barwin against this offense. Hopefully they continue to play at an elevated level. Portis is a straight ahead guy, not a high accelerator like Johnson that gives us fits. The game is winnable, but we need to continue to play with the 4-quarter intensity that we displayed last week. Oh, and LOL at Justice's pathetic column about how it's tough to play against Washington because the fans are demanding.
Yep, it was poetry in motion. The line looked amazing! And the stuff they do in sequence like that, I just don't notice during the game live. But those different views, slow mo....just amazing.
I wouldn't be. The team knows their former OC of the last two years is on the other side of the field. They also know that Kubiak would like to beat his former coach again. The Texans shouldn't look down on the Redskins.
It's the history of it all...i mean, as a texans fan, being scared of a big letdown game is ingrained into us.
So what else is new? Dallas got the Texans' game last week only because the Cowboys weren't playing at noon.
I'm interested in your take concerning the performance of the ZBS last week. Was it an anomaly? Were they able to look so good only because Indy's d-line isn't very good, or their staff didn't prepare well? I ask, because IIRC your opinion on the ZBS is that the NFL has it figured out, and, being the gimmick "scheme" it is, it is doomed to not be productive going forward since teams know how to combat it. I saw this last game: - Guys who had been trained previous years and missed last year who were back and healthy - Young guys playing better than the year before - Extremely well-executed timing. There was a fascinating vid on this from NLFwhatever.com somebody posted the other day. - A very, very suspect Indy defense. Especially the line. Wonder how it will play out going forward. But I don't think anyone expected that kind of performance from our o-line last Sunday. They were simply awesome. Anyhow, I'm genuinely interested in your take on it.
I just hope there isn't a huge let down after the big win at home against the Colts. The 'skins will be keying on Foster and hopefully that may open up things a bit more for Schaub, Johnson, Daniels etc. The key with this as with every game... winning the war in the trenches (both offensively and defensively).
Hopefully, they'll be able to play with the same fire. Don't forget, though, the Skins could have the same problem. A big, emotional, hard fought win over dallas in the first week could set them up for a big downfall, too. I hope the Texans are ignoring all the press and are just looking to go out and prove themselves again this week and another 14 times after that.
Texans SHOULD win vs the skins based on the way we played last week and the way the skins played against dallas. Im thinking foster will have a decent game becuase im betting that th skins r gonna stack 8 in the box early or often leaving a chance for shaub and johnson to go long. I say 1st play of the game is a playaction and go deep to johnson. If it works than its a huge plus for us and even if it doesn't it'll make the skins defense play a little more honest on the pass

Dallas has the early Noon game on FOX. CBS has the double header. Houston is at Washington for the late game. Not like they're competing vs each other. So what are you trying to say?
