Then we don't deserve to go to the playoffs.

i fully expected a loss, really, but i knew that they could play with the ravens. I was sucked into thinking they could get the W when they went up 14-13 but the ravens had a good day and the texans didn't play well enough.

Don't know what's up with Arian. He seemed to be either clipping, running into a clogged hole or dropping passes.

Matt played ok, but another week of getting pounded is hurting his accuracy.

O-line seemed to do a little better but ravens eventually wore them down. Texans just don't do well against big strong defensive fronts.

Surprised to see Kareem out there that much after his injury. He wasn't horrible really...he gave up that big play over the top but I wish they would have challenged because that ball hit the ground.

Flacco was on target for most of the day, and if that happens, the ravens will win more than likely.

The refs were pretty bad on both sides of the ball.

    HA!

It's been a while since we had the pleasure of kicking Kyle Boller's ass. Would love to do it again.

Same goes for Vanilla Ice, err Carson Palmer, in Cincinnati. Bring him in too.

Yeah, the Rockets have exactly one playoff win in the last 14 years whereas the Texans have zero. Worlds apart.

Seriously, this game sucked ass. I didn't expect us to win (which is pretty sad), but I still think this can be a special season with 11 wins, a division title and a playoff win or two.

Now if we lose next week......I am officially back off the bandwagon and will resume my self-loathing Texan fan persona from last season. That is my pledge to you.

This is the 1st game where we should be able to honestly say "they were the better team".... Plus they had better fan support (refs)...

i like you because you remind me what i was like when i was your age.

sadly, i'm beaten down by decades of monday morning excuses for all of our franchises. one celebrated like it won a championship when it won one first round playoff victory since forever in a league where more teams make the playoffs than don't and whose GM gets more attention than its players; another has been through wild ups and downs for 50 years, yet still hasn't brought home anything other than a league pennant in all that time; another is, while younger than the rest, really living up to the spirit of mediocrity we've come to pass off as "nearly there."

i'm just really tired of it all. there is ALWAYS a reason why you could lose a game. there always is. a loser's mentality is to hold on to that each and every week to explain why you can't really beat a good team. "oh, man...did you see how close we were?? and we had a couple of injuries too!!!" the loser in nearly every NFL game each week can make that same claim; it's a league of parity.

Dudes, seriously, this game wasn't worth watching (I barely paid attention) and it sure as hell isn't worth sulking over. Real season starts next week.

We're trying to be a playoff team...and we're saying it's not even worth watching our team against another good team on the road. Really?? This isn't a measuring stick at all for where we are as a franchise?

I flushed this game down the crapper before it even kicked off. I said I was going to be happy with 3-3, and I stand by it. Real season starts now.

    this, this, THIS.

Writing a game off before the kickoff even occurs, expecting a loss is admitting it: your team is a losers. Because that's what losers do; they lose.

God forbid we should want a team that can actually beat somebody.

Oh well, let's look forward to next week's excuse!!

It's hard to imagine that we're sitting here talking about our team winning the division...and yet before a game even starts we're calling it an "L" and not really even tuning in...because we're not supposed to have any expectation that they can beat a good team on the road.

I think Joe Flacco is like 22-6 as a starter @ home , no shame to losing to the Ravens on the road with that Defense, that stadium.

I think we played well... We didnt get physically humiliated... Kubiak didnt get outcoached... Schaub didnt throw the inevitable dumb 4th qtr picks.... Ed Reed wasnt a factor....Defense played aggressive.... Jacoby scored on a deep ball... Foster still a beast... and to top it off, Andre was out... I think it was a win-win yesterday....

Did anyone hear Jason Allen interviewed on 1560? I switched over during and it sounded like he was saying nobody told him he wasn't going to start or play much, etc. He also said that is how it is every week. If that is true that is a terrible way to run a team. Obviously not surprised though.

Yep. Agreed. My only glaring issue thus far is that the Oakland loss reduces the margin for error. They have to go 4-1 in the division and 7-3 overall. Very doable - but obviously, 4-1 and 6-4 would have been easier.

I was encouraged (again) yesterday by the defense. They're not perfect and still have issues on the backend - but they force stops, turnovers and FGs. If the offense ever gets on track, that effort will win games.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the most important game in franchise history was week 17 in 2009. People who keep saying this stuff are just doing it to get their cackles. Next time we play a game that puts us into or out of the playoffs, then we can have this conversation again.

    3-3

Sunday 10/23 at Tennessee Titans Noon CBS
Sunday 10/30 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS Noon CBS
Sunday 11/6 CLEVELAND BROWNS Noon CBS
Sunday 11/13 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Noon CBS
    Sunday 11/20 BYE WEEK
Sunday 11/27 at Jacksonville Jaguars Noon CBS
Sunday 12/4 ATLANTA FALCONS Noon FOX
Sunday 12/11 at Cincinnati Bengals Noon CBS
Sunday 12/18 CAROLINA PANTHERS Noon FOX
Thursday 12/22 at Indianapolis Colts 7:20 p.m. NFLN
Sunday 1/1 TENNESSEE TITANS Noon CBS

didn't realize how easy the schedule is rest of the season, starting to talk myself back into this..
Next weeks game is probably the biggest game of the season. We could easily beat all these teams, but I see 2-4 lose-able games. actually, ima be pessimistic, I say 3-5 loseable games
