No doubt! I was wondering the same thing watching the Saints almost choke to the DeadSkins Rocket River
What if the patriots lost the last two games of season and miami had won today, lost to us next week, and win the last game of the season? would they be in the playoffs with the pats as the final wildcard?
no, a win by miami is best because that would have eliminated the Titans. Texans need to win out and that means winning over miami giving the TExans the tiebreaker.
okay, you're right I wasn't counting a tiebreaker by the texans. you're right since the texans have to win out no matter what, still any loss by the titans eliminates them so its more like six in one hand half a dozen in the other.
i'm not betting on the Titans losing their last two games, that's why a defeat today would have eliminated them from the playoff talk. nothing would suck more than to have all the chips fall into place for the Texans to make the playoffs by winning out, ONLY to be eliminated by a Tenn tiebreaker
the other thing about miami like i said earlier is that you don't want them to win their division because it puts new england in play for the wild card. i believe even with a texan loss if they ended up tied with new england they win their division. my head hurts
Right, but since the Texans play Miami, there's no way the Dolphins could have won the division in our scenario (assuming we win out, otherwise it's pointless). Unless the Patriots somehow lost at home to Jacksonville, in which case we'd be screwed, regardless. That lost definitely hurt - and hurts worse that it came courtesy of three officials and not actual play on the field.
I don't think Calculus II was this hard Keeping track of this is . . . . .mind boggling Rocket River but fun!
A win is a win, but if we had a running game it would not have been this close. Chris brown is garbage...both of em. Glad to see a couple lineman decided to penetrate today...
The Texans are poorly coached, a fact that is painfully obvious. Let's see, the season ends at 7-9 and major changes will be made.
Today was one of the days where I watched the product on the field and I didnt see players making mistakes costing the team points. Sure, the fumble by the RB hurt in the first quarter, and the missed FG stung, but it looked like a team that wasnt prepared to play with little to no focus. You would see guys make a play here or there, but it looked more like going through the motions. Schaub made some great throws, AJ was his solid self, but for the rest it seemed to come in spurts rather than a cohesive effort by the team. This game reminded me of guys making individual plays rather than the team working as a cohesive unit. At least offensively. The sad part is the team has games and halves where the offense does look like a cohesive unit. Even when there are turnovers or the other defense makes a great play. That's on the coach.
On first viewing didn't know what the **** motion Antonio Smith did after his sack. But after seeing it on the news, I am disappointed in myself for not recognizing a classic samurai quick, one stroke slash, with high twirling to clean the blood off the blade gesture. Anyway a win is a win. Ugly or not. I do hope they are better prepared offensively for when the go against Miami. I wonder how Duane Brown's condition is. Butler is good but it will suck to lose our third start on the offensive line.
Antonio Smith has earned the right to dance as much as he wants. He's played okay this year (when he isn't lining up offsides or drawing personal fouls).
Honestly, I really don't think there's any way that Kubiak isn't coaching for the Texans again next season. I'm not telling you I'm excited about that, though.
I don't know about that, the previous two seasons had their starting QB miss at least a quarter to nearly half of the seasons and they still finished at 8-8 both times. This season, not mentioning player injuries like Mario's shoulder or Cushing foot; we have lost two starting offensive linemen for the year, two other starting offensive linemen are playing injured that have been at times removed from the field, lost the second leading receiver on the team/starting TE, a backup blocking TE, starting FS (who was out for the first four games of the year) and the starting RB (who while having a bad year running behind the O-line was still one of the better receiving options). Most teams in the AFC usually don't recover from a list of injuries like this all that well.
