[EDIT: I know this team is trash, but there is at least a future. For context... ]

Pity if you will, the 49ers. Yes, the San Francisco (actually Santa Clara) Forty-niners.

Supposedly a "historical" defense. Meh. Starting to show noticeable cracks, even with Bosa back.
Supposedly found their QB of the future, traded much to get him. But he looks not good and then breaks leg on dumb run play.
Supposedly just a key player away from a Superbowl, so trade a lot more near-term draft capital for CMC.

Lose convincingly to the Chiefs. Fall to 3-and-4. Stuck with Jimmy G, if he stays healthy. No QB of the future. All the allegedly great players another year older and more banged up. And you've pretty much pushed in your chips.

Defense is trending in the wrong direction. Not good.

Mills somehow can’t hack it in the fourth quarter again.

Somebody else needs to be fired.

At least we’ll have cap space and premium draft capital next year

AND THE TEXANS KEEP PROVING THEY CANT COMPETE IN THE MOST CRITICAL OF SITUATIONS

4th qtr point differential has to be the worst in the league

We will manage to screw them up. Fix our offense and defensive line. Spend some damn money on some pro bowl studs.

Take out the 4th quarter and the Texans played a pretty good game. They’re still a long way off, so no reason to even be upset about this one. Plus the Raiders were desperate and needed it much more. There would have been hell to pay if they had lost this game.

Until you fix the most important position (QB) all that other stuff won’t matter. Go get Bryce or CJ or Levis

It goes both ways. Until we fix our offensive line and defensive lines, a rookie might not make much of a difference. We need to pay for some seasoned studs at just about every position. Take your pick. I mean they rushed for 164 yards. That's disturbing. We fold like cardboard.

Yes and no. They tried drafting Cunningham 2nd round, his tackle form from his rookie year to his last 2 seasons became atrocious. McKinney . Blacklock couldn't do basic fundamentals. Even these turds they picked up from the 99cent bin, they shouldn't be this awful, not when you decided to bring them all back for another year. You could get the same results using nothing but UDAs.

Really not happy that it seems like our high draft picks on defense are moving the wrong direction. I feel like Pitre misses tackles badly every game. Stingley is somehow giving huge cushions to his man and giving up 1st downs over and over. Our front 7 on defense has been bad for a while but they also seem undisciplined, which is frustrating because Lovie Smith is your head coach. One would expect that even if his defensive talent isn't great that he would at least make sure his defense is prepared and sound on the basics like tackling. But they look like garbage every game and Lovie looks like he couldn't give a ****.

Intellectually I get that it is probably better for the Texans to lose and get better draft picks, but it is so frustrating watching them every week. I'm tired of this garbage.

Offensive line is not as terrible as you make it seem. Get 2 top 8 picks you can get a qb and elite pass rusher.

It's far easier to draft a potential franchise cornerstone at QB than it is to outright sign one. Conversely, it's easier to sign a franchise offensive and defensive lineman than it is to draft one.

Look at the Bengals. They have their QB for the next 15 years. Even though their O-line was complete garbage last season, they opened up the pocketbook for a better line.

Now, look at the Colts. They had the best O-line in the game, and best they could do on the open market, for a FA QB, was old man Matt Ryan.

The last young "superstar QB" that was made available, was only made so because he sexually assaulted a lot of women.

No need to even compete in an NFL game if you don't have a QB.

Which is why said the problem of not stopping the run has transcended multiple head coaches now and players
get worse or never improve at stopping the run.

Harris did a nice job today so there is that.
