AJ is elite but 4-5 yard crosses all game long??? That is how you use your best passing weapon???

btw..., Did anybody notice that WR #2 was invisible tonight. No one, stepped up. Jean, Walter, Martin all had drops. Granted Schaub was bad but they were worse.

Rick Smith, Please get a WR who can catch not just block!!!

It's so easy to say this now that Peyton has shown that he's fully recovered. If he had come here, we wouldn't have known what he would have been(plus, he would have wanted to change the offense at least some). He could have been terrible. This team has some of the best chemistry in the league. No way you mess that up for a gamble on a 2-3 year rental. No way. Even if it could potentially be Peyton Manning.

The Texans stopped the Patriots for much of the second and third quarters. If the offense gives us *anything* it's a much different game. I am disappointed in the team and especially the coaching, but all is not lost.

I think your post is interesting, because I think the two go hand in hand. I think the fact that no one else stepped up led to Andre being covered well every time he tried to go deep. It was a good game plan by the Pats in eliminating the deep ball to Andre. We really missed Garrett Graham tonight.

Well the question you have to ask yourself is , if he can't take you to a Super Bowl, then what is the point?
Imo, I believe Kubiak didn't want to hand over the reins of the offense to Peyton. Ego.

I think Kubiak (like me) believes that Schaub absolutely can win you a Super Bowl. Like I said earlier, Schaub has bad games, but they are few and far between. There are only maybe 3 or 4 guys in the league that have less bad games than Schaub.

All Im going to say is that he wouldn't have been Terrible if he came here and would be calling the shots more on Offense. I wanted him here and he wanted to as well i think but we all knew the Texans wasn't going to do that at all. No point of talking about we Should've gotten Manning..cause it wasn't even on the Texans mind.

This is the NFL , your Super Bowl window opens and shuts in the blink of an eye. You have to have an all time great defense or GREAT QB. At the time, we knew what Schaub was. We didn't know what type of Manning we were going to get. Tough choice, but we aren't winning any Super Bowls with Schaub at the helm.

Kyle Shanahan did wonders for the offense and Schaub. Too bad out defense stunk back then.
Oh well, you have to run with what u got.

There is a reason for that, its because the Texans play low risk, super conservative football. We could have Romo taking the snaps and it wouldn't be any different.

You can't judge a QB on the basis that he has few bad games, its better to judge him based on the quality of competition he is able to beat. And Schaub has done well against mediocre competition, but when he faces elite QB's he just hasn't lived up to the expectations one should have for elite QB play.

In the playoffs, its very likely that we could end up playing Rothleisburger, and either Peyton or Brady just en route to getting to the SB. If we beat those guys, we will likely face Rodgers or Eli. Bottom line, Schaub has to step it up because he has given no indication that he can play at the same weight class as those guys.

When the playoffs start, teams are going to continue stacking the box against us on defense, Schaub will be forced to make the plays. Kubiak can't continue running the ball on 2nd and long, just..........no.

Your loyalty is to be commended. However, if your QB can only perform in 'ideal' conditions, then he won't win you a Super Bowl.

Pretty comparable, no? I'll give you a hint. Exhibit A (unnamed qb) has won two Super Bowls in this time period.

WR #2 and #3 has been a fail mostly all season.

    Receptions-
    Kevin Walter - 35
    Lestar Jean - 4
    Keshawn Martin - 9

Sure we missed Garrett Graham but a player like that cannot be the piece that ruins an offense.

I think there is some truth to this. If an elite QB brings their A game, the other side is going to have an uphill battle unless they also have an elite QB who also brings their A game.

But the Texans are going to host some playoff football, so hope is not all lost.

Can't be clutch until you get there. Schaub has never been there. If maybe five regular season Monday night games are enough of a metric, I guess you can call Schaub unclutch.

you mean the times Schaub has brought the team back from a double digit deficit in the 4th quarter? i guess he's never done that before this season.

I know both sets of numbers well.

Exhibit A= Not elite , but a gamer. Better than Exhibit B.

Exhibit B= Good, not great. Does not have a second gear.
