Not gonna lie, I had this pegged as a trap game from the start. I know, I know, we aren’t good enough to have trap games, but too much was lined up in our favor. Going against a bad run defense when we needed rushing help, having a bye week to prepare, it being a terrible winless team and our first chance at going above .500. But even with all that, the playcalling switching to their OC. I was worried that would mess with us. Plus we’re the Texans and it’s what we do… just sucks to be brought back down to earth so hard. Now we’ll beat the buccs who are the favored team and boost us all into thinking we are good again until we lose to another inferior team.
No win is guaranteed. Could go winless the rest of the way through. Get a high 2nd round pick. Hope browns keeps loosing as well.
Games? Aside from Jacksonville, they've beaten a Steelers team with the worst offense in football, and a bad Saints team. They simply lack enough talent to go up against decent teams.
And had the lead with 1:30 seconds to go in 2 games they've lost. They're not ready for the Raven but they can play with most teams as long they're baited into establishing things they're not good at.
We can definitely use more talent, but give credit where credit is due. They were able to score 87 pts against the Jags, Steelers, and Saints. They are in the top tier of the league in defense, ranked 7, 9, and 11. We lost to Carolina because of conservative and vanilla play calling!!!!!
Someone needs to go tape this **** onto Slowik's mirror. The irony of running Shanahan's system into the ground is that ever since he's been in SF, Shanahan hasn't had a QB with nearly the talent level of Stroud. Shanahan would KILL to have CJ on that team right now, and yet, here we are running the most conservative, milquetoast offense in the league. It's borderline criminal, but it's not too late to fix it.
When the Texans have Hill/Waddle I'm sure they will do what you're asking. The point is that the skill positions have to be improved.
Hill/Waddle/Mostert/Achane are threats to score anytime and anywhere they get the ball. Who on the Texans are like these guys?
