at first i thought no way, but the only two stretches really are baltimore losing at home to jacksonville and us winning at home against tennessee. at least we're in december with a shot!
The Texans winning 6 in a row to close out the season and Baltimore/Indy losing these last 4 games would be the biggest miracle run to the playoffs in NFL history. Not to mention NE/MIA are still 2 games ahead. But at least there's still something? to play for in December.
I think the Texans have a shot to win...Yes, it'll be cold as balls, but stranger things have happened... Texans: 17 GB: 14
Just seeing the Texans with a playoff shot (even if a miracle has to happen) brings a tear to my eye....
I give us a 1 in 3 shot at winning. Were we hosting GB I'd say it'd be more like 50:50 if not slightly better. I'm hoping Schaub's return will be a big boost. It certainly surprised me. I just hope he won't be out of synch with the offense (which would be understandable). Green Bay won't roll over and die on us like Jax did. They're going to be a tall order out in Lambeau, especially with Sunday calling for a HIGH of 20 degrees. Evan
Hostile terrain with unfavourable weather conditions, but like the great parcells would say, It's not like we're going into Vietnam. Just take care of the ball at all costs. This game should give us a good view of what our defense can or cannot do, now that they are running a variation of blitzing packages.
i'm not sure i believe that the packers have an advantage merely because it's cold. an advantage because they're at home, to be sure. but it's cold for everyone. we're not talking temps below zero, or even as cold as they were when the texans beat the bears at soldier field and it was around 8 degrees. aaron rodgers is from california...i promise you that 20 degrees is cold to him, too.
what in the hell are you talking about? didn't they cancel the rest of their season after the 0-4 start? most everyone here seemed to think it was a good idea...............
First ever visit to Lambeau for the Texans. I think I read something that said the Texans were 3-1 in cold weather games -- not that it means anything. I expect a game plan with lots of running plays for Slaton and Moats. Texans 10 Packers 8 This is the first of two consecutive weeks we get Gus Johnson and Steve Tasker calling Texans' games.
Well, according to that generator we hold the tiebreaker over New England. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm guessing common opponents. That means they can only win 2 more games out of Seattle, Oakland, Arizona (in NE), and Buffalo. I think it's more of a stretch to expect Arizona AND Buffalo to beat the Pats than Baltimore losing the last four. It's a complete longshot, but it's still possible We played Tennessee well earlier this year, and it would've been really close had Dre not dropped 2 TD's. Of course this weekends game is no cake-walk either, but I think at our best we are better than Green Bay. That choke-job to the Colts early this season is sure gonna hurt a lot more if we do make it close.
Its funny, i wasnt even a member of clutch last year and i still cant forget all that haymaker bodyshot crap.
Mig, you have more hope than I. I went through and picked the rest of the games as I thought they would happen, and the worst team to make the playoffs from the AFC was 10-6. What kills me is that we're looking at a team that should have won at least 9 games this year. Those first four killed us. Imagine if we win these last 3 or 4. Then, imagine we had won the two games that we should have (first Indy and first Jacksonville games). We'd be looking at either 10 and 6 or 11 and 5. We'd be getting so much praise in the press. I'm still going to say that this team is going places. I have a good feeling about next year. I'm excited to watch the rest of this year, and I hope I eat crow for this, but I just don't see us making the playoffs. That said, let's go into Green Bay and whip some tail!
WHA?? You sure you didn't mean "Detroit" or "Oakland"? I'll file that one under, "things I didn't expect to be said of the Texans in the next ten years."
