- Bob helped DW4 win a national championship at Clemson before he even got drafted. - Bob helped BY to be the 2nd ranked QB nationally as a high schooler and 6th all time. played a part? Sure. Made them the players they are, they probably would’ve gotten there without him, as they were already very good before even getting to Bob. What we can agree is he didn’t do much with Christian Hackenberg who was ranked as the number 2 recruit out of high school. Let’s forget about all those Texans QB’s!
The year he was with Hackwnberg was Hack's best year. He was touted at the time to be the 1sr pick in his draft class . He's a really good QB coach, avg HC, terrible GM.
Well, he was touted super high for the draft due to being one of the best prospects out of high school. He had a decent season but not great, almost as good as Tom Savage. Nothing he did was QB guru with him, even his junior season he had a better TD:INT ratio
Young, Watson, Tom ****ing Brady…. Vs. Hoyer, mallet, Osweiler, savage, yates, weeden… look man, I don’t think BOB is a bad OC, hell maybe a mediocre coach? And a god awful GM. Some coaches are just built that way. Just like some coaches are immortal college coaches but nothing in pros.. you can be good at some levels but not the others.. in any case…. BOB was touted as the “qb whisperer” this guy that yelled at the goat on the sideline. This guy that coached hackenberg during his best season… this OC wizard from the great patriots… He was a sham, he couldn’t cut it, and none of his QBs after Brady… for YEARS did anything til Watson, and then goes back to a bama juggernaut with Bryce.. and somehow Bryce went from heisman to not, and bama did worse. Maybe BOB was making him worse over time lol. anyways, **** BOB, Bryce is still good.
I mean if you have Devonta Smith as your WR1 on BAMA, then locking on to your receiver would actually probably result in a high QB rating and completion percentage.. both can be true..
He also had Waddle and Metchie on that team. I can't remember if Ruggs was on that team. I seem to remember Jones checking down to Najee Harris a lot too. Hawkeye could tell you more than I can about who was on that team. But I thought Jones spread the ball around pretty well.
Player / Receptions / Yards Najee / 43 / 425 Waddle / 28 / 591 Metchie / 55 / 916 devonta / 117 / 1856 I mean, that’s receptions, not targets, but that seems pretty locked in. Again, I think this is a weird argument, I don’t want to get into whether max Jones is good or not, or whether he deserves highest qb rating, etc… but it’s also interesting that you boost mac jones, play down Bryce young, but then also say they are the same.. just moving goal posts and fitting into narratives.
I'm not down playing Young, I think he's going to be a top 10 ish QB if he can stay healthy. Yes, Smith was the WR1 and rightfully so, Heisman. But The ball obviously was spread around. Smith was the 1st option on most pass plays. When he wasn'topen Jones moved on to other options.
Okudah would look nice in Houston gear. Caserio, you asleep, breh? Or are there going to be 100 police reports about Okudah in the following weeks. Something is off.
