I wanted Edmunds for example. You have the need and the cap space and he’s young enough to grow with your drafted guys and help mentor them. I don’t agree with let’s not spend until we have our QB. You’re basically just tanking forever because once you have a QB you’re not sure he’s the right one because the rest of the team is so bad. I was fine going scorched earth these last two years until all of those **** BOB contracts were off the books. But now that’s over. You’re in a weak division and likely drafting Young or Stroud. Sign an upgrade at G/C and spend some $ on real impact guys on the defense and you can turn this around quickly. Edit just saw the Mason trade that’s a strong move to support your newly drafted QB.
Gotta love that trade! Cas drafted Shaq, so knows him well and he'll definitely help solidify IOL. Also, Mason is only 6'1" so shouldn't be too much of an issue for Bryce to have a passing lane over or around him!
Texans are probably going to surprise the division this year if they can hit on the QB. I don't see Stroud or Young being bust. Too skilled and great processors.
Adding Ridgeway and Ward are strong FA additions. Rumor has it Al Shaair is going to be signed today. Put this together with the Mason trade and they've added the 3-4 guys in the FA period that I was hoping Ryans/Caserio could add. Although not big name FA's these guys can play. I bet they draft a center. If Green can make it back healthy the OL should be a strength for the 1st time in a very long time. With Pierce converting 3rd and shorts shouldn't be the problem it's been the last few years.
Yep, they're picking the midget. Now that he should be well protected, there should be no excuses. Draft Washington at 2-32 and Wypler at 3-64 and the run game should be really good.
Solid beginning of the off-season for the Texans. 4 new starters - Woods, Mason, Ridgeway, Ward and still the possibility they add another 1 or 2 impactful FA's.
