The fifth and seventh-round picks involved in the Josh Jones trade are from 2024, a source confirms. So, the Texans 2024 draft picks are now like this: 1st (CLE) 2nd 3rd (PHI) 4th 4th (CLE) 7th 7th (NO) 7th (ARZ)
And thats my problem with it, why make it an issue......Make your life easier and just say CJ is the starter! You don't think Baltimore know at this point, who the Texans are trotting out by this point? So why not just say it.
Im glad Nick is addressing the o-line, because in a short sample size, CJ has shown if given time, he can be productive. HOWEVER, we need another playmaker on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. If they can't pickup someone during the NFL cutdown, I think they need to use one of their two #4 or #7 draft picks to pickup a WR and/or another DE opposite Will Anderson
Because if you think about it, its LUDACROUS not to. Its all the talk on the sports talk stations, we are the ONLY team in the NFL that has not named their starter and its just so TEXAN. When are we going to change the stigma of trying to out smart everyone else but still looking like idiots?
I'm not stressing, because it's not a stressful issue, its more of an idiotic issue. Just answer the obvious. I just saw on Texansdaily that CJ Stroud was presented with the question, "why hasnt he been named the starter"? Why put your rookie QB through that, when all you have to do is just answer the obvious. I'm glad Demeco is the coach and I know he's young and he's going to make mistakes but make your job easier, not harder
But who says this is hard for him because he has t named a starter? This is only an issue to fans like you. Nobody is talking about this everyday and pressuring them to name a starter when everyone knows who they guy is already. It doesn’t change a thing for the players. They know!
Between those impactful signings and the trade to get both a franchise QB and Edge rusher in the draft what brand and model of wheelbarrow are you and Nick Caserio using to carry your balls around (A La Randy Marsh)? Spoiler A lot of us have noticed that Hannah McNair has taken a more public presence with the team over the last couple of years. What kind of impact would you say she is having on the team that people might not see? Hannah is my best friend and my partner on everything in life. She is my #1 fan along with Mom. When did you fall in love with the game of football? The first year I played in a church league, I was on the defensive line. The ball got tipped, I caught it and ran it back for a touchdown. I was around six or seven years old. with the new uniforms coming in 2024, will there be multiple helmets with the 2 helmet rule? or will there only be the main helmet? Multiple Hey Cal! I'm just curious who was your favorite Texans player to watch play over the years? PS Thanks for hiring DeMeco. I am really excited about him as our head coach going forward. We love them all! Each player has played a role in shaping our franchise so “Always a Texan” isn’t just a phrase. We mean it. I will say, the focus right now is on getting Andre Johnson into the Hall of Fame and then eventually J.J. Watt will join him. I think we can ALL agree that both deserve it. What about you? Who are your favorites? I heard John McClain mention that you always felt your dad was the more social one and that you enjoyed being behind the scenes. Do you feel like being more intentional about being out amongst fans the last 2 years has changed that about you, or is it still something you have to balance to not get completely drained? It's true. I enjoyed being behind the scenes and learning from Dad. While I'm really busy now with the team and my family, I love feeling the energy fans bring. Life's a balance. Hi Gottidevon for the Wisconsin Texans fan Division, What do you believe the greatest play in Texans franchise history would be? 2nd Question would be If you could chose any specific colors for the Texans what would they be? Two greatest. J.J.’s pick-six against the Bengals and Andre’s spike against Washington. What's yours? Cal, what was the greatest lesson your dad ever taught you and how has it helped you running the Texans? Patience. Optimism. Persistence. POP from Pop. how do you feel about the sports media always dogging on the team. Our local media is very fair. tacos or burgers? Flame broiled. Hey Cal, I remember reading somewhere that the Texans didn't have any plans to retire jersey numbers. If that's true, can you elaborate on the decision? It seems like some franchises do and others don't, so I'm curious what your thought process on that is. We really like what we have with the Ring of Honor. We talked to Andre and J.J. about signing one-day contracts but both sides agreed that it makes more sense to keep our Ring of Honor tradition going as is. With that said, you probably won’t be seeing any Texans wearing 99 or 80 any time soon. Are the Texans ever getting their own Karbach beer? We have Crawford Bock (Astros) and Clutch City Lager (Rockets). Would love to see a Karbach and Texans collaboration. That's a great idea! I actually do have my own beer, Caltober. Hannah organized a tasting session and we smoked the hops to create it for my birthday in October. Maybe we can get Texans Twitter to post a photo. When was the decision made to trade up to get CJ and Will Anderson Jr? Who’s idea was that first? What was that conversation like with Nick and Demeco? We were ready for all the different scenarios on draft night, so we were hopeful, but you don’t know until you’re on the clock. Nick and DeMeco worked together to make it happen. The draft is something our personnel staff spends the whole year preparing for. I definitely think Nick’s relationship with Monti helped make it happen too. It was such a fun night and Nick did a great job. Will there be renovations coming to NRG stadium in the near future? If so, what aspect of the renovation are you most excited about? We’ll see what our future stadium plans could be but it’s definitely a priority for us. We are working in collaboration with the Rodeo and County to find the best path forward for all. It’s about the fans for us. What would be the biggest thing you would change about NRG Stadium or what are some of your favorite stadiums that can inspire us? What's the color scheme for the uniform redesign? Fans love Texans Deep Steel Blue, Battle Red and Liberty White. Maybe we’re working on a few surprises for y’all in 2024. We know so many of us love H-Town Blue. Although there are tons of rules around color usage and combinations in the NFL, we're working hard to find a way to honor the 120 year history of H-Town Blue in our city. Ok I see a lot of questions about an update on the new uniforms. Here is what I can tell you: fan input drove the process as we surveyed over 10k fans and held over 50 focus groups with Legends, Current Players, Houston celebrities, all kinds of fans and more. We feel really good about where we’re headed with it. Over our four new designs, we feel like we landed on something for everyone. We can’t wait to debut them in 2024. Can y’all let Parker McCollum know that’s the date we have been planning to release them for me?
