Brian Cushing post-retirement probably has two tubes feeding liquid HGH straight into his pituitary, like Bane.

    Or do this

Which will pretty much be naming himself as the QB coach.

Best nugget in the whole thing:
This plus Welker choosing between Green Bay and San Francisco, the Bill O'Brien coaching tree is growing

It was due to performance enhancing drugs. Also, he was famous for "over-training".

Ian Rapoport on the Texans...from 610 today

    On Sean Ryan/new QB coach
This move does not happen if O’Brien doesn’t let it happen, if Bill O’Brien wants to keep him this move is stopped in its tracks. That being said this is an indication that at least Bill O’Brien was open to moving on from him, was open to a different quarterbacks coach. I don’t know if it’s going to be an OC honestly like if O’Brien was going to hire an OC he might’ve done it with George Godsey a couple of years. He does the offense so you may not actually hire an offensive coordinator but at the least he’s gonna bring in a new quarterbacks guy and I think you know as much as he does with the offense it sounds like he wanted someone who he could more like turn the QB position over to logistically, fundamentally, and in practice and maybe free O’Brien up just like a little bit.

    On Deshaun Watson/QB coach
I think the main thing is that Bill O’Brien and Deshaun Watson have a good thing going on. Deshaun had a very good year this year, a pro bowler again, but there were definitely some times when you could sort of say like maybe it’s not quite what it was… because last year pre injury, the way we are talking about Patrick Mahomes now was basically the way we were talking about Deshaun last year. So, not saying that Sean Ryan was the cause but clearly this year was like a minuscule step… back a little bit. The development of this young quarterback is so important. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a really veteran sort of senior quarterbacks coach, someone who’s gonna be here for like 10 years that could take O’Brien through with Deshaun Watson. [Declines to name names saying the guy could get blocked by other teams.]

    On playcalling
I don’t I don’t see any scenario where O’Brien doesn’t call plays. Now when Godsey was here I know George actually called plays all but basically two games. I think if O’Brien is going to allow somebody else to call plays he’d have to have an unbelievable amount of trust with that person and I just don’t know that he has that person yet.

    On Clowney
With Clowney I think there’s a good chance he gets tagged, think there’s a good chance he plays on the tag and I’m not sure that’s bad for either side. Now I’m sure he would like a long-term deal but there are still questions: work ethic questions, injury questions… no talent questions. But he might make sense as someone who plays on the tag so I could see that. I don’t see a situation where they lose him.

    On Tyrann Mathieu
As far as the Honey Badger, he loves it in Houston. I mean this was… that signing and I sort of thought it was good at the time, but I didn’t really appreciate how good it would be. He loves it. They love him. He is versatile, Romeo can move him around, he loves the city. Unless they lowball him and don’t treat him with the kind of respect that he wants, I would expect that to be one that probably ends up getting done.

What’s your impression of the one year into the Bill O’Brien-Brian Gaine partnership?
Really like it. You know, for the first time it seems like this is the team that O’Brien is behind and likes. When Rick Smith was here it never felt like O’Brien has his people, his kind of players, just guys he liked. And it, the team wasn’t, it never felt like it was really creative either. You know going out and getting Demaryius Thomas. I know he got injured, but that was a bold move and I’m not sure that happens with Rick Smith. And that’s the kind of move that helps a team get to the playoffs.

It’s pretty clear that Brock was not an O’Brien guy?
I will say this… that was, it was a fun thing of blame game and who really was responsible… that was always a Rick Smith move over an O’Brien move even though at the time Bill said all the right things.

John McClain on what Watson wants
Bill O’Brien does a lot of coaching of Deshaun Watson. I was interviewing Deshaun Watson yesterday about a couple of stories i’m doing, and and I talked to him some more about O’Brien and he REALLY likes working with Bill. And I know Bill loves working with him.

    So they'll hire/promote a QB coach
Bob O'Brien will remain the garbage HC/OC that he is
BOB: I'm not saying Sean Ryan is to blame but he is to blame
And I'm not saying Rick Smith was to blame but he was to blame

    And it's still not.

Watson's biggest downfall in his career may be his fondness of BoB. Let's just hope Watson's greatness can overcome it.

Sounds a bit biased. I don't see how he can be so positive about the offense under O'Brien.

Yeah. Ian sounds like he wants to remain friends with his "source" with the team.

    That's what real coaches do.
