Amen to that, the one SB Dan was in they got rocked by Riggins......that dude was a BULL. Just shows you cant win with one guy, it has to be a team effort. I always thought he would get another chance after going to one so young, you have to go for it while you can
I don't get what Cody doesn't get. That's less than the going rate for the better safeties, 10 of them are paid more. and it's also less than Patrick Queen. When you consider Pitre is used as the hybrid lead of both positions, It's a bargain. Recently, Only the Cardinals(Def Co history) and Seahawks do this on 90% of the defensive snaps with their safety.
Prolly flashbacks of Pitre in deep coverage... which he prolly should NEVER EVER... EVER... EVER... do again
His injury history and the fact that he may not be healed up by TC is troublesome. However I'll trust Ryans on this one.
He's had a healthy career in the pros. 1 concussion that took him out for a game in his rookie year. The following year benched for a game. And this year, the torn pec that is not a big deal in recovery.
You might want to read up on the pec injury. It still hasn't healed and that's because it was much more that a simple pec tear, he tore a tendon. Also a different time he suffered a bruised lung. Also I
Plus I like what the Texans are doing - using slightly higher IQ and older players through the linebacker position and have crazy athletic and good readers of the ball at safety. definitely like this model than vice versa.
If Harris can stay healthy this defense is going to be awesome even if they dont draft a single defensive player. They will still be very good even without Harris.
I like it too. although It does make the 3rd LB in the 4-3 Obsolete. I do wish the Texans would play the DBs and the LBs around 75% of the snaps instead of 90 %to keep them all fresh. Or maybe they do, do that. Meco like Ime is down with trying new things. That injury has always taken 6 months- 9 months for recovery. You can search the Mario Williams thread on here. Pitre suffered it on December 11th. 5 months ago. Regular timeline Watt was the outlier and there was panic with drs that he shouldn't even try coming back so soon.
Tearing Tendons is much different than tearing muscles. A different recovery time and a possibility of a longer, lesser recovery. It's a different injury than what Mario/Watt had. Tendon vs Muscle.
Don't be surprised if they extend Pierce. Demeco loving his 'practice spirit.' with John Harris. Mixon/Pierce/Rookie 2025
Unfortunately no. I'm not sure extending him is the right thing to do with his concussion history. He would be a perfect fit with Nico/Kirk/Olave.
