Faggins: Titans laid back compared to Texans

Gee, Petey, I wonder why it was tense. Maybe because your starting job was always on the line because of your consistency in blowing coverage and costing us games!

Do think there is some truth to that statement though. Another 8-8 year might not cut it with the owner, the gm and the fans. It's time to take that next step.

Titans know who they are...Texans are still trying to figure that out.

The thing I never understood was how every camp Kubiak would rave about how Petey was performing well in practice but then was terrible in the games.

I know there is truth to it, but it's funny because Petey was part of what caused it. When there are expectations for a team and they aren't living up to them (like starting 0-4 last year), there is going to be a lot of tension.

Of course the Titans are more relaxed right now...they just came off their best season in a long time.

    Fixed..

I feel like the secondary is the weakest group on the Texans. We need Dunta back asap so we can make a legitimate playoff push. It's dissapointing that he isn't putting the success of the team first.

I agree about the secondary being the biggest concern, however, they'll look better with an improved pass rush. I'm more worried about our rush defense, that's going to cost us games more than our secondary will IMO. Dunta will help in that regard as he's good as making an open field tackle on a half back and he's good with run support. That's probably the strongest part of his game.

You're right about the improved pass rush relieving pressure on the secondary. Adding Smith, Cushing, & Barwin should do the trick.

I'm excited about Bush blitzing more often. The late Jimmy Johnson was tremendous with blitzing packages so maybe Bush can emulate some of his methods. I doubt we will blitz as much as Johnson used to but anything is better than what we have done in the past.

Also, I think our rush defense will be solid this season. It will atleast be better than last year (23rd). Like you mentioned, Dunta is very good at run support and having him for all 16 games (knock on wood) will make the defense more complete.

Dang it. I was worried about injuries especially after I saw that Stewart Bradley tore up his knee..

6-8 weeks isn't the end of the world though.

That sucks but better happened now. Quin and McCain are get rave review in camp so hopefully they come through. Mike McKenzie is still a free agent and I am sure he will get a look if healthy which Drew Rosenhaus says he is.

Looks like Fred Bennett and Quin might start opening day at CB. Maybe Dunta at nickel, or Molden.

High-ankle sprains are bad news, too, especially for a lineman. Fortunately I think Myers is the weakest link and easiest to replace in our line, and they were really high on Caldwell.

Never big fan of Myers either. He is just really too small for big nose tackles. I am a big fan of Caldwell and I thought he would overtake Myers anyway.

ChronicleTexans Corners banged up: Reeves will not need surgery; rookie Glover Quin is out with a bruised knee. Time for Dunta Robinson to end holdout.

    DUNTA!!!!

It seems like he has more leverage now. These contract issues are so annoying. You signed the contract..now live with it. The NBA is better in this regard.

From my perspective it makes no difference, but I think technically Dunta hasn't signed anything. He played out his previous contract and is upset the team put the franchise tag on him, so he didn't sign the tender.
